Just because someone’s problems look insignificant to you doesn’t mean they are not suffering, just because someone has it worse, people who lose those “insignificant “ things for them they are significant. Just like how a homeless person who’s been homeless for years can easily adjust with his condition whereas someone who has just become homeless after living in a mansion will suffer. Brains need a lot of time to adapt and if your situation changes from good to bad it’s the hardest. These men were born this way, they are use to it. They even said they don’t want to be separated. That means they are fine with their situation. It’s terrible to compare. If someone suffers someone suffers no matter the situation, someone is joyful some is joyful. Maybe for them it’s not as bad as a situation.
