If you operate it inside a Faraday cage, no electromagnetic frequencies will escape out into the open and no trouble from authorities. Just an EXCELLENT variety of examples in your demo! Thank you kindly, very gratifying. Few people know this, but this device is identical in its function to the ignition coil and spark plug gap in all gasoline engines. Also, this device was used by Heinrich Hertz to discover radio waves, ie. this coil made all radio possible. Hertz developed his antenna - the world's first radio antenna - and hooked it up to one of these Ruhmkorff coils back in 1887. The induction coil is responsible for the most important devices humans use. Very few technology devices have lasted as long as this simple design. Very nice of you to restore this coil and create the demo.

Superlative Presentation of the characteristics and variation of the phenomena; particularly with the polarity reversals. That particular coil structure is a beautiful antique from pre 1900 and pre WWI for sure. It's very robust for it's size. IF there are any markings or labels upon it you should show them also so that they can be appreciated. Not just before man went into space as you say, but before man even learned to fly.

Nice video. Can the coil be used in Street lights if so much of potential difference can be generated. Plese reply

Thank you so much; this is really great to be able to hear what these sound like and see how they work! I'd be interested to know how they were used in early medical treatments...was this connected to a battery and the charges applied to the patient via the battery? In any case; I am very grateful for your video!Cheers!

Most of the You tubers here have lost the path from the essence of how the Rumhkorff coil was originally invented. I have seen dozens of them commiting the same mistake, and more will be lead in that path, including the acedemicians that demonstrate the fundamentals of this machine☝️☝️
