Very handy for adventure lifestyle. Tweezers work on splinters unlike SAK tweezers, between awl (with hole) and holes in screwdriver can "sew"/bend wire in field to sort gear faliure, belt cutter with inbuilt clip is magnificent climbing/rafting or with cord can carry even in boardies/sarong/long tunics etc and all on one hand opening hardy actual knife. G10 edges need some sanding but then with a leatherman squirt on keys and can sort self out of anything.

I have an this LD -51b and really enjoy it. I want to get an rescue tool for my car and I just might get this for the glove box. Thanks for the review.

We must have similar tastes. That is exactly the same version of the LD that I chose to review. I will wait a bit to do my review.

I carry the Swiss army type multitools for edc but not instead of a knife. My edc is either an edc fixed blade or big folder, multitool in my left pocket and a flashlight (Ti3). I picked the Swiss army type because of the combo of the leatherman's being too big (for edc), too expensive or not having the tool combo I like in the size and price range I want, which would be about 5 oz (140 grams), $50 U.S. and with a saw (which I do actually use often).

I think that Gerber Signal is a Chinese fake because it says Leatherman on the side......(sorry, couldn't help myself). Seriously, excellent review as always. Thanks for posting.

I've actually come to a point, where I wonder why no multitool seems to do the most important tool right - the knife. Pliers Leatherman gets right, but I'm at awe why this can't be combined with a simply great knife.

So, what do you have against _Care Bears?_ Fine. Must be a Canadian thing. I at least expect to see a My Little Pony for size comparisons from now on. Wasn't expecting a liner lock on the knife, agree not sure why not just a slipjoint. Also not keen on having to use a tool to pull out the tools, I've never had an issue with Victorinox or Leatherman. The bottle opener is a deal killer! ;o) I have Leatherman type multi-tools, but they tend to remain in places like my car trunk or console or under my motorcycle seat. I prefer a knife style knife if I'm carrying it.

It needs a tool to open the tool! 😂

Kinda looks like a böker tech tool, I wonder if they share manufacturing facilities.

Alex F From everything I have heard they do use the same factories. Hence the similarities. But That's the word on the web.

Jack FarmBoy: I'd assumed that the parent company Fenix might have a lot of the manufacturing equipment since they make so many flashlights. But it would also make sense to partner with somebody that specializes in knives for at least some of the manufacturing if not all.

slidetek kinda smart. Come into the market with good quality knives and materials below market value. Establish a following and slowly raise prices until you've carve out a part of the market for yourself and developed a following. Which is why they probably did a Chinese partnership less initial investment and if it ruike doesn't work out your out a few thousand knives and that's about it. Appears to be working. Everyone is talking about them.
