Ruike P108 SF Review and Discussion

I tried both P108 and P801, the 108 flip much better but I end up with 801 for it’s blade shape look less intrusive.

I actually have this knife in my pocket right now. That slim profile makes it really easy to carry, and the framelock is actually pretty beefy compared to most.

while I am not a fan of the handle shape (it just looks off to me) of this model I will still be getting one to complete my Ruike collection. The three models of Ruike I have (P801, P105 and P121) all offer fantastic value for money and are of excellent quality.

mine turned up today, I am really impressed with this model, still not a big fan of its appearance but it is growing on me. I will say the detent is strong, maybe a little too strong, it is a lot stronger than my Ruike P801-SF (which flips really well despite the weaker detent). The other thing I would have liked to see is Ruike doing the same as what they did with the P801, as in use the P801 pocket clip rather than the pocket clip they used, and the blue accents on pocket clip and pivot bushing.

Hi Kevin, thx for the nice vids, i am a subscribber. I have the 108 now for a month and i just love it, great fit and finnish and great quality for the price! When i received the knife, it smelled aweful...the grease they use smells terrible, so i disassembled and cleaned the interior, used nano-oil 10w and now it flips even better!!! Only things i would have liked was a bit of jimping on the top of the flipper and flat screws for the clip, and maybe a blue anodized backspacer, and it would have been super for me. I have a 801 and 128 on the way...Kind regards from the Belgian Ardennes, Yves.

I just jumped on the ruike and real steel line of knives.and i like them alot. excellent QC and use of materials without the fanboy pricetags.

I have come to love the Ruike brand. They generally have good looking and well build knives. You can see and feel that the Ruike designers design their knives with care and attention to detail. Very good value. I have bought the black wash version of this particular knife (P108SB), because I felt the black back spacer does not belong on the P108SF. It should have been blue. Ruike made a bad design choice there. If Ruike ever decides to create a new SF version with a blue back spacer I will buy that one too.

what i'm curious about with this guy is compared to the 801, how thin/slicey can it be with the shallower grind? The ffg on the 801 makes it scream through material.... this one seems ground to a bit more of a wedge shape. Any feedback?

Great review as usual, glad to see that you went to the manufacturer. I find that W&W is pretty expensive. Aside from that, it does remind me of the puukko scandi grind.

Warriors and wonders can be a bit steep especially when you add shipping and tax that said always do the math sometime the exchange makes it worth while. I think this specific knife is $52 there. It is similar to the g3 puukko but the real steel has a nicer pivot.

Which do you like better this one are the one with blue g10 you reviewed before this one I think I'm going to have to pick one up I keep hearing good things about them. They seem to be very similar to real steel how would you say they compare? Hope your having a bless night.

I like this one a little better in design while I like the other for comfort both are quite good though in terms of quality

I had this model but it felt to small and uncomfortable.still a nicely made knife razor sharp out of the box.

similar lines to my eye, though the Puuko is like 2.3x the price for similar construction and materials used.

I posted that exact same question on Reddit and got no replies Also bought the puukko and own the 801. Detent was a little disappointing on the puukko, imo. I'm considering giving it another try

Kevin, thanks for the nice vid. Wow the Ruike P108 SF, is a lot of knife for little money... Something like, you eat at the mcdonalds, the super size the luxury big mac hamburger. for the price of a standard hamburger. that's how I see the Ruike P108 SF

Warriors doesn't have this knife . Some G10 handled folders and some fixed blades . It could of been the P105q

I own one detent on mind is way too heavy i hurts yup mine that bad nice knife but I don't use it cause of the painful detent because of that wish I wouldn't have bought it dust collector now anyone else have this problem?

absolutely have this problem, I spent most of the day force flipping it open, cleaning it, nothing I could do would make this thing not KILL my finger trying to flip it open. It's insanely hard to get going to the point of smacking it on the table to break Detent OUCH. Any way to fix this at all?

hey mine is gettin better but ya way hard too bad cause i really like the knife i am now lookin at the ruike p128 very nice and on bearings! still great knives for the price hard to conplain. just keep workin it ; it will loosen up hope this helped a bit maybe look at the p 128sf very nice harpoon blade shpe too.
