Күн бұрын

Oh Deary me, I know.
How could he?!
Why would he?!
This Shouldn't BE!
On deck today I have a Spanish Conversion of a very early (c.1937) version of what would become the model AB-104 Lap steel. This early rendition has a unique headstock shape with no branding whatsoever. It is in quite nice shape and includes its original case.
A spanish conversion can be a very intrusive procedure and, to avoid bastardizing a piece of history, this commissioned work will be completed with a bare minimum of modifications so that it could reasonably be returned to stock condition, if desired.
With the exception of a single hole, this guitar remains unaltered and yet is now able to be played in a fretted position instead of a Hawaiian slide guitar! Most excellent and fun! The guitar has a lively tone from the Charlie Christian pickup and suits itself well to many genres. It has a punch that will assuredly cut through in the mix,
This was a joy to convert, and I sure hope you enjoyed watching the process! please like, subscribe, and comment below the video with your thoughts!

When I was but a lad, My dear father, whom I'll call "dad," repaired and refinished antique furniture for a living. By the time i was sixteen, I had had enough sanding to last me my whole life and beyond. But, for some odd reason, I find it incredibly relaxing to watch other people sanding and woodworking. Since I have also been a musician for 35 years, or so, this kind of content is right up my alley, so to speak. I really enjoy your channel; it's interesting, educational, funny, and relaxing. I can't even imagine what you could do if you were a luthier.

@Notaluthier Thank's for your reply ! the pickup did not have as much electrical baggage as your "Recording king" a cross between a Chuck-C and a P-90 , (the magnet was directly under the bobbin) the pots were 283K- V and 291K-T . they were probably intended to be linear but had a slight dip in the curve ! I mounted everything on a spruce plate. that would go through the sound hole ! A lot of work but a killer electrical J-45 with vintage parts !
