Looking awesome! My favorite technique for wattle and daub texture is to use egg carton instead of a texture paste. Hail upcycling in crafting :D

Is that foam or paper egg cartons?
@10urion Жыл бұрын
@@Bluecho4 Paper egg cartons. You can only use the lit though really for that technique if it has a a big rectangular piece. I know not all egg cartons look the same around the world. You can also use the egg carton to make bricks and cobble stone

One thing to consider about medieval/Tudor style homes (and, for that matter, castle walls) is that stonework was frequently plastered over and whitewashed. Both to protect the masonry from the elements, and because it looked nice. Humans have no meaningfully changed for thousands of years. We still like things to look pretty. In that vein, you could dispense with the individual bricks (especially if you can't or don't want to work with insulation foam), and use another panel of dollar store foam board for the ground level. Better yet, peel back a bit of the paper and etch brickwork into the foam, to create the illusion of plaster crumbling off and exposing the shell underneath. (For reference, though this may be harder to replicate in a build, the non-brick portions of the building would frequently be made from plaster over sections of Wattle & Daub. The latter being stripped branches woven horizontally between vertical posts, making a weave that is, when plastered, more sturdy than a simple mud wall but more easily and cheaply made than wood or stone. These panels of Wattle & Daub would be placed within a frame of wood, giving the iconic "Tudor" look.)

Brother that was an awesome one. Especially bringing in the finer details like graffiti, giving it that really life-like vibe. Man. Can’t wait to try something like this.

Thanks luminous! Just make sure to practice the graffiti first before you just go for it on the terrain build.

This turned out awesome. I've been trying to figure out how to do a better stone first floor using Leif's techniques that is stronger than just stacking and gluing bricks and I think you nailed it in this build. Looks good on the inside and out and seems a lot more rigid and stable than just the bricks alone. Probably going to steal a lot of how you did things in my next couple of buildings for my mordheim table.
