This is our local mall. I was just there last week… perhaps even as this video was being posted. Took a bunch of footage. I’d be happy to share if you like, there is a bit you don’t have since I came in through the one “downstairs” entry. They still have a little of what I guess is the original wall. My son had a birthday party at what used to be a Johnny Rockets. The Boscov’s had a small third floor once upon a time, and an attached two-level parking garage (now demolished). And we were at that Bobby Flay event and he signed something for my father-in-law. (He also used to have a shop at Freehold Raceway Mall but now they’re both gone.)

Love these Mall Videos . But also that you show the Mall’s history from beginning to end to sad end . That it had life and usually a vibrant life . Very respectful and well done video once again . Thanks for these !! ❤😊👍🏻👍🏻🫶🏻

I went to Monmouth University from 2001-2003 and dormed there. So, me and my friends went here all the time during those years. It was a beautiful mall and was ALWAYS packed every time we went there from 2001-2003. Sad to see it has closed. I also have family that live about 15 mins from this mall in Red Bank. I went to this mall once with them back in 2002 and they bought me the Kobe Bryant Adidas space looking sneakers for Christmas at the Foot Locker in this mall back for Christmas in 2002. I also went to the movies here multiple times with my girlfriend in this time period here at the Monmouth Mall back in 2002. Great times that I will always remember and covet. Thank you for the video.

I grew up going to Monmouth Mall, first when it was an Open Mall and then when they enclosed it and when they expanded it with the 2 Tier addition. It was such a great Mall to go to. Now, it's reverting back to an Open Mall once again. What a shame in the demise of Malls all across the country. The internet and shopping online has destroyed brick and mortar businesses and then when COVID hit that was pretty much it for so many businesses that just couldn't cope or recover from it. More than likely, the Mall will just be a memory in future days.

This was hard to watch. This mall and Freehold were my go to malls since childhood. One of my favorite things to do was see how many laps of free samples of the food court we could do before they noticed. Great times, thanks for this.

Thank you for this awesome video of this giant beauty. Monmouth mall, what's fascinating is that the mall looks so pristine and looks like it was meant for success unfortunately it's shuttered. I loved the entire history lesson especially for someone like me who doesn't know anything about this mall, just hearing a brief breakdown of the malls history is refreshing and intriguing. I noticed that Monmouth, lakeside and Stratford has had big reactions on KZbin over closing which is symbolic of the love people have for these places. Two things that stand out in this video, the hustle and bustle of that flash mob video where the voices of the cheering crowd and shuffling of the dancing people was played over the video of the mall in it's dead state, and secondly the video of the Japanese and chinese restaurants fighting for customers and then that shot to the food court where we see both eating joints closed in an empty food court. Awesome video as always 🎉

The mall is currently under massive renovations. Though much of the indoor will be demolished, the mall is being repurposed as an outdoor mall and housing. It’s not going to be completely gone.

I grew up at monmouth mall. I pass by it all the time, and I miss the good Ole days. Kb toys, getting pokemon cards at intrinsic ( store with the golden dragon statue in front of it) browsing dvds at Suncoast, band merch at hot topic, laughing at the dildos in Spencer's, and buying w.e girl I was talking too a auntie Anne's pretzel as we walked the stores. The memories are endless.

Last time I was at the Hamilton Mall to return something to American Eagle (now no longer there) I walked the Mall and counted around 35 empty store fronts. Another Mall that will soon meet its Maker I would imagine because there's just no way that it can continue to sustain itself in its present condition.

Monmouth Mall was a good mall. Hate to say it, but that whole "Town Center" concept doesn't always work out so well. I hope its more successful than the Voorhees Town Center (nee Echelon Mall) in Camden County.

Anyone else remember running through Macy’s to get concert tickets at the Ticketmaster kiosk they had on the upper floor next to customer service? I also remember them printing tickets as fast as they came up for their colleagues and friends first. Pissed me off! I got stuck with nosebleed seats!

I was probably one of the last ones to see those Small Tiles and always went to those Big Stairs. Especially looking over the edge of that balcony part. The only place that hasn't been changed was that shop with those tiles by the escalators.

Cannot tell you how much Bananarama, Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, Cover Girls, and Expose I heard in the stores of that mall in the mid to late 80's. Occasional Phil Collins, but that was likely the Hallmark Store. Sam Goody. The Wiz. Structure. Suncoast. Orange Julius. Disney Store. All kinds of typical mall stores were in there. Only Woodbridge was more complete. Raceway Mall took its thunder.

Sorry that mall was empty always unless it was raining. Then people came. I worked there one summer in the early 2000s and not one customer until 12pm in a very busy chain. Only if it rained were there people in that mall.

all these malls closing across AMERICA...thanks but no thanks to Amazon and businesses alike. I remember when back in the days we would plan a trip to the mall on weekends and couldn't wait for that day, the excitement and joy one would feel sharing those moments with family or friends...now it's all gone..some malls still exits but they no longer crowded like it used to be...you can almost see that they are about to die soon from the lack of busy crowds...it's so weird to see a mall with very few people...looking straight out like a zombie movie.
