The title is incorrect... although the video says it rightly..Dr. Kadambini Ganguly was India's first practicing woman doctor. In 1886 along with Anandibai joshi she got her degree in western medicine. Anandibai from Women's college of medicine, Pennsylvania in March 1886 and Kadambini from Calcutta Medical College a few months later. Anandibai returned to India in late 1886 but died in feb 1887 due to poor heath. Thus Kadambini became the first practicing female doctor of India. Rukhmabai also was a pioneering female doctors and one of the first doctors but she got her degree in 1894 from England and started practicing in 1895, a good 9 years after Kadambini..Kadambini already was practicing even had a specialzed degeee in medicine from University of Edinburgh in 1892.
