Hey! I'm sorry it took so long to post. This video should have been uploaded weeks ago. But Disney kept copyright claiming and blocking the video. That’s why there are so many cuts and blurs. As a psych student and now a young adult, I feel like I actually take away more from this movie now than I ever did when it first came out. Also, I love the message that we need sadness in our lives. Otherwise, what is true joy? Feeling things, even when they don't feel good, reminds us that we're human, and can even help us grow to be better people. I love rewatching this movie from time to time.

I just wrote a comment. I'm a psych student too, but I researched psychology as a child cause I'm also autistic and it's a special interest for me, and my opinions on the film haven't changed much. Remember that all of the characters in Riley's mind ARE Riley. The conversations between her emotions are her internal debates with herself. This includes Bing-Bong, and his self sacrifice represents an aspect of her childhood mind making room for her to move on and grow up.

@MacTechG4

Absolutely, severe clinical depression basically ‘blunts’ ALL emotions, it’s a pervasive, all encompassing numbness, you feel *blank*, empty, going through the motions on autopilot like a robot, nothing makes you happy, sad, or angry, because that would be feeling …something… SCD erases that. And people trying to be ‘helpful’ by saying “get over it” or “cheer up” or “be happy”, “just stop being sad” or any positive platitudes they think will ‘help’ either annoy the person with SCD, making them retreat deeper inside and slam up more emotional walls, or force them deeper into depression… You’d think if it was that easy, WE’D HAVE DONE IT ALREADY! You know what helps? Trying to understand what’s happening from our perspective, listening, not trying to solve or rationalize the problem, give us time to work it out, stop with the psychobabble, buzzwords, and other useless crap, just be there and be supportive.

This movie is INCREDIBLE with color theory. Riley: striped shirt as they're moving with all colors on them to show theyre in harmony, or so it seems. yellow jacket on the first day of school because she's still young enough to be excited. Striped shirt sans blue and yellow at the dinner table because all of her emotions are fighting for control with joy and sadness gone. Black jacket because she's emotionally shutting down. Emotions: joy has blue hair, backing up the theory joy and sadness go hand in hand. Disgust has a purple ascot, suggesting disgust is mainly motivated by what scares us. Anger is wearing a red tie showing how when were angry, we can't see, hear, or feel anything else. Think, "seeing red". Fear itself is purple, a mix of red and blue, or in this case, anger and sadness. And finally Sadness is wearing a white turtleneck as a combination of all the emotions, like how all light is combined to make white light.

This movie actually taught me sadness isn't a negative emotion in which people think they shouldn't be sad because it's unhealthy for them in a way. It also showed me toxic happiness, where you have to be happy and positive all the time, isn't good either. Like how Joy insists on being the main emotion because she thinks it's the right thing to do.

Sadness is the reason why grown men can actually cry! All men have sadness inside of them! Their girlfriends or wives need to owe them a apology! Because judging your own boyfriend or husband is wrong because that's not romantic and not even nice! If you think men crying is not attractive but you don't know what they have been going through and if you judge them your family members wouldn't be happy even your parents or your kids if you insult their dad that you have married which brings disgrace of your forefathers because you don't know if they had cried before and even your dad!

5 months late, but Anger will also override our fear and can cause us to do things we later regret, such as road rage for some people. Inside Out hit me in the feels with this one. There's so much relatability, where the struggle of growing up is something that we all have to deal with. The point of the movie is that sometimes you need sadness to get through life. And it shows at the end of the movie, which was a very touching scene. And the scene with Joy crying was very well done. An amazing Pixar film that's definitely one of their best!

A shrink once told me, when I was telling about an argument that I had with a family member: the minute you start yelling, people stop listening to what you have to say. I actually saw this movie at age 35... but I CAN say when I was younger anything emotional would also make me cringe! My first watch of this movie has an interesting story attached to it: The scene where Joy is about to give up and says "Do you remember when she used to stick her tongue out when she was coloring?" THAT one ALMOST got me to cry in front of my roommates (at age 35, that was the FIRST time ANY movie ever did that to me!) I held in the tears BUT it was PAINFULLY difficult to do so! Then after the film, I realize I'm craving more tearjerkers when I've NEVER had that tendency in my LIFE. After a bit of research, I come to find out that endorphins often get released along with tears (or, "almost-tears" like in that case), and endorphins can definitely cause cravings for whatever triggered them. So, this movie basically turned me into a tearjerker-seeker lol.

I really WANTED to tell them (I like talking about anything that involves endorphins although historically it had been thrillseeking activities like roller coasters)... BUT of course that would mean admitting the vulnerability. Every time I thought about it, (this went on for MONTHS), I got such butterflies in my stomach lol. When one of them was finally "Hey how about you tell us that thing you've wanted to talk about for months?" ... I did tell ONE of them that day (and the other a few days later) but it took me an HOUR to work up enough courage to just start to tell the story, lol. It turned out to be a very rewarding pair of conversations though and both of them, as it turned out, had their own stories to share :P

Not only children, a loooooot of adults are still conditionned to think that some emotions are "negative" and should be suppressed and ignored (and then they teach children and teenagers just that). Everyone should learn that negative emotions don't exist, there's only negative ways of dealing with them (like ignoring them for example). But yeah this movie carries the message wonderfully that's for sure.

I find it interesting how immediately everything kinda dislikes sadness and has the same attitude as joy and is like "sadness go awayyyy" until around the scene where bing bong cries about his rocket making joy start realizing sadness was helping him by letting him be sad and when she realized the memories about Riley in the tree with her parents and teammates was a sad and happy memory. like the stuff joy was doing is what causes depression and suppression and NPC children lol and its interesting how everyone has been conditioned subconsciously to side with joy, immediately note quite but hate sadness and want Riley to not feel that. like no one wants kids to be sad but it's normal and people who are like oh it's fine it's a learning experience and talk to their kids about it are told they're being bad parents. It's also interesting how i can almost write an entire essay on this without even trying it was supposed to be a little observation but in class i get a prompt and I'm like wtf 😂

this is most likely not true, because in inside out 2, anger calls joy delusional and joy felt offended and was so mad at anger so joy has her own emotions

This Theory. Could.he true but how do we know for sure? I mean she does face sadness a lot especially in the inside out 2 she is very upset at many times That really showed that not everyone is happy. At all times even people who are usually super happy aren't ALWAYS happy but this could true to be honest I kinda love this theory
@PriyaRhodes-hs3ky

But I think it is true All emotions always face all of them like in the inside out 2 movie not cried many times im.not gonna say why bc. Spoilers but so did disgust well she got upset and times And sadness was a bit happier than usual But ofc..still sad because I mean she's sadness. And anger even looked upset and times fear was mostly upset but Ofc. VERY. Scared at times I love inside out 2 + 1 it teaches people so much that everyone struggles and everyone goes through things😁

Did you know: Rileys colored shirt she wore when showing up to her new house,represents her 5 emotions, and also includes orange, which hints a new emotion in the 2nd movie. We also see this on the fake flower bing bong has on his jacket, which also represents rileys 5 emotions, plus the new emotion, which is anxiety,the new emotion but not the other emotions in inside out 2.✨THE MORE YOU KNOW✨

I don’t know if some else has mentioned it but the reason Bing Bong “ignores” the signs is because he was made by Riley before she learned how to read so he can’t! If anything it’s joy and sadness fault for not telling him what they say!

When they're tossing memories, they're not just getting rid of stuff she doesn't need. They're getting rid of stuff that was associated with the island that was just destroyed. And for the record, if at any point you've ever said, "I'm not a kid anymore.", that's how you know YOUR goofball island has been destroyed.

Yay great to see you back Rukiya I couldn’t wait for this movie reaction 😁😁😁 this is such a fantastic movie because it’s got the emotions and I do admit it did make me tear up a few times like Bing Bongs Death so sad 😭 but he did go as a hero. I love the important lessons like you can’t be happy all the time you need to have other emotions to make you human and guess that’s what Joy learnt that Riley needed to have Sadness to express what she was feeling inside and because she kept pushing the other emotions away Riley became empty inside which I think is a great lesson that everyone should watch and of course I love funny moments in this as well like dream part hilarious 😂. Thank you for doing this movie and I can’t not wait what you do next 😊😊😁😉😉
