#ଭୁବନେଶ୍ୱରର ପ୍ରଭୁ ଲିଙ୍ଗରାଜଙ୍କ ରୁକୁଣା ରଥ ଯାତ୍ରା ହେଉଛି ସହରର ସବୁଠାରୁ ବଡ ପର୍ବ। ଭଗବାନ ଲିଙ୍ଗରାଜଙ୍କ ରଥ ମହୋତ୍ସବ ଅଶୋକାଷ୍ଟମି କିମ୍ବା ବସନ୍ତୀ ଦୁର୍ଗା ପୂଜା ଦିନ ଭୁବନେଶ୍ୱରରେ ପାଳନ କରାଯାଏ। ଏହି ଉତ୍ସବ ଚୈତ୍ର ମାସରେ ହୋଇଥାଏ (ଏପ୍ରିଲ୍) ରାମନବମୀ ର ପୂର୍ବ ଦିନ | ଅଶୋକାଷ୍ଟମି ଦିନ ଦେବତା ଯଥା ଚନ୍ଦ୍ରଶେଖର - ପ୍ରଭୁ ଲିଙ୍ଗରାଜ, ରୁକ୍ମିଣୀ ଏବଂ ବାସୁଦେବଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତିନିଧୀଙ୍କୁ ରଥ ଆରୋହଣ ପାଇଁ ଆନୁଷ୍ଠାନିକ ଭାବରେ ଅଣାଯାଏ | ଏହା ପରେ, ରଥ ରାମସ୍ୱରା ମନ୍ଦିରକୁ ଟାଣି ହୋଇ ସେଠାରେ ଗୁଣ୍ଡିଚା ଖରାଣ୍ଡ ନାମକ ଚାରି ଦିନ ରହିଲା ଏବଂ ପଞ୍ଚମ ଦିନରେ ତିନି ଦେବତା ବାହୁଡା ନାମକ ପ୍ରତ୍ୟାବର୍ତ୍ତନ ଯାତ୍ରା ଆରମ୍ଭ କଲେ। ରଥ ଫେରିବା ସମୟରେ ପଛପଟରୁ ମନ୍ଦିରକୁ ଟାଣାଯାଇଥାଏ (ରଥ କୈାଣସି ମୋଡ଼ ନେଇ ନଥାଏ। ଦେବତାମାନଙ୍କର ଯଜ୍ଞ କେବଳ ପରିବର୍ତ୍ତନ କରାଯାଇଥାଏ) | ଏଥିପାଇଁ ଓଡିଆରେ ଏକ ପ୍ରବାଦ ଅଛି: “ରୁକୁଣା ରାଧା ଆନା ଲ୍ୟୁଟା” ଯାହାର ଅର୍ଥ ହେଉଛି ରୁକୁଣା କିମ୍ବା ରୁକ୍ମିନି (ରକ୍ମିଣୀ ଏବଂ ବାସୁଦେବ ମଧ୍ୟ ଚନ୍ଦ୍ର ଶେଖରଙ୍କ ସହ ରଥରେ ବସିଥିଲେ) ଆଉ ପଛକୁ ଫେରି ନଥାଏ।
#Rukuna Rath Yatra of Lord Lingaraj in Bhubaneswar is one of the biggest festival of the city.The Chariot Festival of Lord Lingaraja is celebrated at Bhubaneswar on the day of Ashokastami or Basanti Durga Puja.The festival takes place in the month of Chaitra (March-April) the day preceding Ramanavami.
On the day of Ashokastami 3 deities i.e. Chandrasekhar - the representative of lord Lingaraja, Rukmini & Basudeva are ceremonially brought to ascend chariot. After that, the chariot is drawn to Rameswara temple and remained there for four days called Gundicha Gharand on the fifth day the three deities start the return journey called Bahuda.
While returning the Chariot is drawn to the temple from the backside without having any turn (The Chariot does not take a turn. The altar of the deities is only changed). For that, there is a saying in Odia: ” Rukuna Ratha Ana leuta ” which means the chariot of Rukuna or Rukmini (Rukmini and Basudeva also sat in the Chariot along with Chandra Sekhar) never turns back
