Would enjoy this type of thing much better if there was an example played out at the end, employing all the subjects covered.

We actually just posted such an episode (#6 I think) last week, Kenneth! It covers *most* of the stuff discussed in the prior episodes. We used roll20 and live dice rolls though so we were a little limited to the outcomes they gave us! Thanks for the feedback. Let us know what you think of the Test Drive!

Thanks for watching!! Definitely a bit of a learning curve! I found the system amazing from a realism perspective but pretty heavy when trying to run lean action sequences.

Just wondering.. The talent Resolute state that you add your level of Resolute to your SB when you Charge. That's fine but I'm wondering... why? Is it used for Advantage when Charging or is it used for Damage when hitting? I've flipped through the rulebook but I just don't seem to find what the Resolute is actually used for. Thanks for your videos about WFRP 4E and your ongoing videos about Tides of Nurgle. Just love it!
@MythBrigade
@MythBrigade 4 жыл бұрын
CreativeFosse Thanks for the awesome question! My read of it tells me it allows you to deal extra damage as a result of the change (since the charge has to be into a melee attack). Without this talent, you just get the advantage from the charge. This talent extends that into damage for as many points as you’ve taken in Resolute. Glad you’re enjoying the channel! I absolute love the community we’re building here! You guys are all the best!! Stay safe and healthy!!
@CreativeFosse

@@MythBrigade Okay, thanks! So, if I understand this correctly it's like this: When you Charge you get 1+ Advantage. And with Resolute you get your level of Resolute (2) + your SB (3) AND the weapon's Damage (4) for a total of 9 Damage, if you hit your opponent when Charging? PS! I live in Norway so your videos and insights regarding the game reach out way beyond your borders :) But I guess you already knew that...

Does anyone know if/when conditions stack? For example, my character suffered a hard hit, reaching negative wounds, which gained him the Prone condition, which then prompted a “critical wound” d100 roll which resulted in gaining a Stunned condition. So is my character Prone and Stunned? Which checks (and when) do I make to remove these?

To roll initiative you make an initiative test and then go by highest to lowest SL. OR roll d10 then add to initiative, or roll d10 and then add to Agility bonus + Initiative bonus.
@MythBrigade
@MythBrigade 4 жыл бұрын
mircoles this is optional in 4th edition. (Page 156). We chose to go with a static initiative order just to eliminate some of the lag during the live stream using roll 20. Around a table, I prefer a randomized initiative usually hang tokens on my GM screen to keep track of it.

what is the technical difference between walking and running for the game, considering modifications for following roles? up till now i handled walking as standart movement, running as moveaction + walk action, with the ability to turn, and sprinting as a full round action with no real turning (but swerving) capability? and, instead of asking under another video: in the combat rules it is stated, if you fail your attack (opposed role), advantage gets calculated and your action ends in the 4e rulebook, under "spending resilience" it is stated (in the example) that loosing an attack role with -7 (difference) would "hurt a lot", indicating the defending enemy, winning the role with such a high number, can deal some damage is it that defenders can only deal damage via talents and crits, or even crit-like (6+ SL) roles (after difference is calculated)?

Hi, I've read many times the combat rules but it isn't clear how to dodge works. When I'm opposing a Combat Test can I use Dodge skill number instead that Weapon Skill characteristic? And if I use Dodge instead of attack can I Dodge every single following attack with a +20 bonus? On page 158 the Rulebook says different things, the printed copy says that I have a +20 to all defensive Tests until the next Turn. My PDF says that my character just Dodge the Attack but I don't understand the consequences (if consequences are contemplated). Please help me, probably is just more simple than I think but I'm really in Stunned condition about this skill ;-) Thanks!
@MythBrigade
@MythBrigade 4 жыл бұрын
Amazing question! Forgive the lengthy answer. The rule on page 158 is an *optional one* that allows you to use your action to “prepare” to avoid attacks, using a defensive skill (probably Dodge). This gives you +20 to uses of that skill (and that skill only) until the next turn. The catch is, you consume your ability to do anything else. I would say it’s OK to allow that +20 to apply to various attacks (even if multiple attackers engage). Of course, then, you’d be outnumbered so they’d get a bonus that would offset your preparation. So an example… Your party has set a trap for a trio of goblins who’ve been stalking you. Two rush past the trap zone and engage but the most dangerous - a spell caster - is about to step INTO the target zone. You were volunteered to trigger the trap with a tug of a rope at just the right moment. You may have missed the grunts but you’re determined to get that shaman! You decide to use this optional rule (if allowed by the GM) by saying, “I am going to focus on using Dodge to avoid any attacks while the shaman moves into the trap zone.” You get your +20 from being prepared for that round and, thanks to some great rolls, manage to avoid all harm. Next round, you use your action to pull the rope and entangle the shaman. In normal scenarios, you can use Dodge to oppose an incoming melee attack (page 159). Winning this allows you to avoid harm and gives you +1 advantage against that opponent. It can be used in a similar way to avoid ranged attacks but only if you are at point-blank range (or in some scenarios, clear line of sight). Page 164 covers what benefit you get out of that Advantage and how you might lose some or all of it (e.g. not causing damage on your next action). Hopefully, this helps! Thanks for being a part of our community! And happy Dodging!!

Wait. I need clarification If I roll to attack, and Fail, let’s say with -2SL but my opponent Fails worse, let’s say with -5SL … I hit? With a net +3 SL. I get +1Adv, and even if my opponent has enough Toughness and Armour to avoid the damage he still takes 1 Wound. Similar in opposed Skill Checks (not including the Adv). Grim & perilous indeed So the Skill % is just setting the bar of my quality of attempt to succeed not determining my actual success.

Question on reloading range weapons. I notice range weapons have different reload scores. Is that the number of SLs required in a test? What test is used by a PC to reload a weapon ?
@MythBrigade
@MythBrigade 3 жыл бұрын
Hey John! Thanks for the great question! Weapons with the Reload flaw (I guess it had to fall somewhere) are considered a little more difficult to reload. Bows and simpler ones don't require a check -- just the time. The rating in parentheses is the target SL for an extended Ranged test appropriate for the weapon. Page 128 breaks this skill down into specialties that you'd use to reload a particular weapon type. So, to reload a Blunderbuss, the player would have to achieve a SL of 2 on his or her extended Blackpowder test. In this specific case, the player could use Engineering as well because of the exception on 297. Sorry for the long-winded response but hopefully this clears it up!!

isn't falling damage a bit 2 much? i mean at 1 meter that he falls (which is basically nothing) he can take up to 13 wounds......so i'm wondering if there is any height min limit to start counting the damage or if i'm seeing it wrong....yes i know that you can soak with Thoughness but still i still find it weird the falling mechanics

I definitely get where your'e coming from here. The 1d10 seems a little heavy. I think the Cubicle 7 team was trying to add a bit of harsh realism to this part (which I rather enjoy). I've had quite a number of injuries busting my arse on a skateboard from about a meter over the ground. I have a friend who broke his arm slipping from a tire screen at about 2' off the ground. BUT... Does that level of real life misfortune belong at the table? That's a GMs decision. I would enforce this rule only when it seemed super important. So, for example, maybe the PC was battling between two moving wagons and fell off. Maybe Geschwind ever the improvisor is trying to pole vault over the walls at Ubersreik. Here, I think I'd bring it in. In a typical situation, though, meh. As a GM, I think it is vital to ignore the rules that make you think, "meh." Cheers and thanks for jumping in! What's your current campaign look like?
