Holy SMOKE did you just give a masterclass on Shmups. How amazing would it be to combine the Street Fighter “World Tour” map with the rescue Earth theme. I wanna see an overwhelming amount of stages on the map. Hidden stages. Rest stages to recoup after a boss blowout. Then blast outta the atmosphere for the space levels. Simple play with variety and novelty. A recipe for success should anyone have the team to pull it off. Archive this on a gold hu-card and blast it into orbit for future generations to benefit!

Like when you die and your speed can be reduced back down to unplayable when coming up to a boss (Gradius/Parodius, I'm looking at you), etc. Or when the game throws too many at ya and it gets utterly rediculous.

I can't remember if you already had Andro Dunos 2 but that was so close to a modern-retro shooter. I couldn't agree more about long, drawn out story before hitting the start button. Nothing like pushing the power button and the title screen appears.

One shmup powreup system needs fixing. Remebr twin cobra? U start with red. if u pick up red, u now have lvl 2 red. But if u pick up BLUE, u have lvl 1 blue. you must saxcrifice a power lvl to change weapons. This is stupid. Bunch of shooter do it this way, pick up same to power up, pick up different to swap, but they make u effectivelyt be one lvl lower.
