Mostly my country which girls play BOTH Netball & Basketball, boys on the other hand, they don't play netball, when I was in school, the boys treat netball as a basketball game.

The transition from being able to dribble a ball to not being able to is not easy.

I don't reckon an NBA guard could effectively handle no contact on the ball or player, let alone the 3 feet (1 metre) obstruction rule without being constantly penalised. It takes finesse and self control big time to avoid giving away points, as well as constant focus. No ambling back and forth or standing about.

Very strange hearing what sounds like an American accent giving the rules for netball, considering it’s not played in the US. (Sad for them!) I’ve been playing the queen of team sports since I was about 8. I’m about to turn 61 and still love it. I now play a modified game of ‘walking netball.’ Basically no running or jumping. Fast walking is allowed though, so it’s still pretty high energy. My 12 year old granddaughter won her grand final on Saturday.

Excuse me, I wanted to clarify something about the rules in netball regarding shooting. From my understanding, a shooter can indeed replay the ball if it touches any part of the goal post, including the rim, even if the shot doesn’t go through the hoop. This means that if the ball hits the rim and bounces back, the shooter can catch and replay the ball. Is that correct according to the current netball rules?

You are allowed to jump block a shot and a few shooters do layup, those who don't aren't confident and also if you lessen the distance between yourself as a shooter and a defender you make it easier for the defender to block your shot.

Serious question: what’s the point of a goalkeeper if they can’t be within three feet of a shooter? And why does the shooter have to be within the circle? They basically get a free shot. And you can’t knock the ball out of a players hand?! So you have to hope they make a bad pass to get a steal?

You can take a step but must release the ball before you touch down your first grounded foot. Sort of one and a half steps, at speed usually. And believe me netball can be speedy at higher levels

It won't always be that way. Aim to get real competitive at higher level. Then you won't haver time to even think. It can be gruelling, challenging and relentless at top levels. Take it from me, a veteran of thirty years running and leaping outdoors on ashphalt in mid-winter sleet and rain. Lol. LOved where netball took me, even overseas to international tournament on Kauai of all places. At 63 I'm so glad i got that muscle tone and form in my youth. Every lil bit helps!

Because the world has changed since i started netball back in the 1960s in New Zealand. I would hate to have to play vs boys/men. It's a waste of time. It's okay to have them in their own leagues if they wanna to play and may be mixed teams for social sport.
