MOH must ask WHY employees are getting MCs this way. The majority of Singapore employees are overworked by employees, especially in the SME sector where overtime is the norm. Perhaps MOM should put up some new guidelines for employers to balance MOH's move.

Every company has at least 14 days of MCs available for each worker for a year ...so whats the problem of taking MC when falling sick and permitted by Qualified Doctors? And Doctors who breaches the laws will be deal with ..so i dont see theres an issue with the MC subject.

Some initial thoughts....as a consumer, I empathize with Haresh and lean towards some of his perspectives. However, with some insight into the event and ticketing industry, it's common that tickets are generally underpriced, with significant revenue potentially coming from sponsorships, partnerships, and grants. Espacially with local productions and smaller to mid-sized events and acts, tickets are typically priced to break even or make minimal profit to balance between accessibility and sustainability. Dynamic ticket pricing might seem like greedy profiteering, but apart from large live event companies and major acts, most event production companies aim just to break even and sustain themselves, with each subsequent event involving significant financial risk. Dynamic pricing could potentially help local acts and arts companies remain sustainable and marginally increase profits. Now it's whether or not local consumers would give local events a chance to experiment with dynamic pricing and support local.

going to the MOs in the army is insane sometimes. It feels like I'm being gaslit into believing I'm not sick sometimes, especially in tekong. it's as if they see every patient with the attitude that everyone is malingering. Also MCs are practically not a thing in the army. Light duty and excuse to almost everything.

During Covid the messaging was even if you are a bit sick, go see doctor and rest. Now they reverse it and saying too much MC

Cos' they know a segment of the employees in the workforce have been abusing their MCs. I know of 2 in my team who have been doing that. And the manager could not say a thing. These people will affect the morale of those around them. In the end you see more and more MCs being taken by other co-workers. It is a vicious cycle that is bad for the team, dept and company in the long run.

MOM is moving towards encouraging FWA whilst MOH is moving in the opposite direction. At the end of the day its all about individual integrity, responsibility and trust between medical practitioners, employers and employees, yes? Ministries should get their acts together and synchronize the direction when the world is changing. Haresh's back to the idealist realm hehe... The argument for dynamic pricing does sound weak and he subconsciously associate concerts as "public good". Dynamic pricing is nothing new and just becoming more prevalent in this age of adv technology. Ultimately it boils down to individual consumers demand elasticity and perceived utility the exclusive product yields - pure economics - the choice is yours. Haresh came from SIA and should know this well.

Employers should FIRST improve on their toxic workplace cultures so that their employees are happy and motivated to report to work. Than all these MCs rates will be a none issue.

Hello, fellow yah butters . On second issue , not a fan of concerts they are too loud, people screaming over each other , hot and humid . End of concert cannot take ride hailing apps all booked and overpriced due to demand 😳must squeeze in the train 😟 coz all go home same time . No thanks not for me . 😊
