Monette Marino in collaboration with an all female percussion cast performs a portion of her original piece Rumba de la Guinée (available on her album Coup d'Eclat) at the Asheville Percussion Festival in 2018. Musicians on stage from left to right are Raquy Danziger, Hope Medford, Maria Llorca, Nasira Keita, Jessie Lehmann, Kasiva Mutua, Monette Marino, Lisette Santiago, Aparna Keshaviah, Deborah Peyton, Naghmeh Farahmand. Asheville Percussion Festival is produced each year by the non-profit organization, Asheville Rhythm, under the artistic direction of River Guerguerian.
The theme for the 2018 Asheville Percussion Festival was "Celebrating Women in Rhythm" and all of the headlining guest artists were women who have diligently pioneered to excellence in their respective musical genres.
