One way I learnt to strum like this was to throw every trick and nuance in the book with the hand movements. It gets easier the faster you go .Great lesson, have subscribed.

This has been the absolute BEST tutorial on rumba strumming by far. I've watched a million of them today and this one has been the most helpful and pleasant to watch. Also ...you're a beast homie! What i got from this is that there really is no right or wrong way as long as you get the accents and practice the fluidity of motion. You should have way more views and likes my friend. Thank you so much. Perfect video to end on of a full day of practicing the rumba strum.

Hi, I have a question regarding rasgeudos. Is it ok if I start with my index till my pinky and back up to my index instead of the pinky first then back up? PS. I just bought your Total Flamenco Guitarist book. Just waiting for it's delivery :)
@havealooke6 жыл бұрын
yes it's ok....it's not the best way but it's ok..... it will make your ring finger stronger and after that you will be able to do it the right way (pinky or ring finger first) the right way will make others flamenco technique around rasgeado easier.... the important is the sound

I'm having real difficulty getting volume on the index finger part. I'm playing a classical guitar; is that the reason why do you think?
@juanitopascual14 жыл бұрын
Hi There, thanks for your question. Hard to say without seeing what you're doing. certainly the higher string height of a classical may make some of the movements less fluid and/or muted. I do teach lessons if you want to try a lesson out, or if you can write a little more detail about what you're experiencing I can try and give you more help here. You might need to adjust the angle of the movement. In case you're not doing this already, I suggest isolating the movement that is not working right, and seeing if you can get that to sound good, before putting it together with the other movements. If you can get it to sound good by itself, than you know it is you. If you can't get the sound even when you're ONLY doing the index finger, it could be the guitar, or maybe your nails are too short, and/or maybe you need to adjust the angle of your finger somewhat. Hope that helps, but let me know if you have more specifics, and/or if you are interested to do a lesson.
