I have a suggestion for Dance Papi! For many years Edgardo's video tutorials have been added to my bookmarks list as I learned about them. A compilation of them, in one collection, would make a substantial contribution to the study of this marvelous music and Mr. Cambon's unique ability to convey the essence of the rhythms he demonstrates. His body of knowledge deserves a wider distribution. Love it!

Roberto Vizcaino Guillot - played with Gonzalo Rubalcaba's amazing group in the 80s
@Eddysuconga4 жыл бұрын
Hi Curtis, yes indeed. “Grupo Proyecto”, which I saw a couple of times live in Cuba, and another at the notorious North Sea Jazz Festival in Holland in the mid 80’s. Horacio “El Negro” Hernandez on drums, Gonzalo Rubalcaba on Piano, Vizcaino on percussions and a luminary line up of young “monster”players on bass and a horn section (I don’t recall everyones names, sorry). That Band was way ahead of its time! Roberto Vizcaino blew my mind with his impressive independence, playing (for instance) a full sounding one handed “Marcha” or Tumbao at a fast speed, WHILE playing a great Timbales sólo with the other. Unfortunately (I hope I am wrong), the band never recorded... Thanks for your comment.

@@pirihern9329 Do you mean the Conga Room in LA right? No I have not been there, but if you are talking about the Conga Room Club (LA), I played outdoors in the square where it is located, it was called Nokia Theatre, we did a private event with my Band for the Home Depot corporation, right under the Conga Room, on a Wednesday and the Club was closed. The only Club that I played at in LA is “El Floridita” a famous but tinny little place in LA.

@@borichongo .... I am sorry to say that they are not offered online or anywhere that I see... I am going to ask the LP Artist rep to see if they can still be somewhat purchased, but I cant make any promises as with the current situation (pandemic, etc) things are moving slow for everyone, here isn USA and in Thailand where the company makes them.
