For the people who don't understand the part about Cassandra and the Greeks: Cassandra in Greek mythology is a princess of the city of Troy. She is also a priestess of Apollo, cursed to utter true prophecies that are never believed. When her brother, prince Paris abducts Helen of Sparta and brings her to Troy, Cassandra foretells that this will bring the end of the city. Her father, king Priam along with all their compatriots ignore her prophecy, thus sealing their terrible fate.

Probably one of my favorite parts of the movie. Usually the Alcoholic parent is mean spirited and abusive and S.E. Hinton is no exception to that, because she had two in the form of Johnny's parents in The Outsiders. However this is one of the few times I seen an Alcoholic father character, not be abusive. Maybe witty and cynical, but a fun drunk none the less. Not to mention even while plastered his last lines in the movie were words of wisdom to Rusty James even if he didn't get it right away.
