Thanks Sandee, well despite being part Scottish and living near the Scottish Borders I hadn't heard of it either until recently. It's a lovely winter warmer 🙂

Watching this I can't help myself thinking what it would be like with some corned beef added to it. Thanks for sharing this Tony. I left UK 53 years ago to settle in New Zealand, but I love these comfort recipes and all the food joy they bring. Take care and have a great week.

My husband and I just returned from a trip to New Zealand and Australia, were on a cruise with Holland America. What a fantastic trip! We live in Ontario Canada so the jet lag was no joke! We love New Zealand ❤️we hope to come back and drive from north to south, both islands, with a rental car, taking the ferry in between the islands. You are so blessed to live there!!

Slice up some smoked sausage and add it in when sauteing the onions, and this would be an easy weekday meal.

Tony: Within a few seconds of viewing your shared, labour-of-love video, I was alarmed to see that your non-stick frying pan had scratches. Toss it!

I think Rumbledethumps is from the noise your 'lower intestine' makes after eating cabbage and onions : )

Yay a yummy dish and like the bubble and squeak we make with pumpkin, kumara, carrots or peas or anyhting we have. And butter and lots of black pepper- yes it makes everything so much better!l Thanks, for sharing your video recipe, and the name is neat!

Do you ever put like a little gin in with the greens or a little white wine to simmer them for flavor? No garlic?

I always thought the name had to do with the "wind" it inspires in some folks.
