I think I get what Pomu is saying. Kanae is simply really good at everything he does probably makes around him feels like they are dragging him down. Almost like they don't belong in the same stream as him. The fact that he is so nice probably works against him because they probably would want to be criticized for their mistakes instead. Kuzuha is the only one who can keep up with him but unlike Kanae, Kuzuha actually rages and even blame others at times. He's a vampire but seems more human than Kanae.

Ngl, he was intimidating at first even as a viewer because of his insane skills & just how talented that man is, but as you watch his streams & interactions with others, you'll learn of how genuinely nice & kind of a person he is. Though he was addressing this in kind of a sarcastic tone but the key point was that he was concerned that even if he does interact with them, he'll have difficulties communicating / not be able to help because he doesn't know English & I think just that by itself shows how kind hearted he is? Though he doesn't interact much with other livers as compared to some others, but there's definitely a reason why he's able to have -a harem- so many friends, that aren't even limited to VTubers ( utaites, pro gamers, etctec ), he's just THAT approachable & friendly. I mean, I wouldn't know how he actually is, but this is just what I've observed.

I really hope we see EN-JP collabs, because when I think of Nijisanji then I think of collabs. Also, the way that Kanae talked about communicating with them made me a little sad that he didn’t think that he would ever do anything major with them (because of the language barrier and because of the fact LazuLight thinks he’s scary), but hopefully he ends up being wrong.

@@folklore19 There haven’t been as many as one could dream of, but absolutely there’ve been a ton of great moments. Honorary EN member Oliver-sensei definitely helped bridge the gap and really help facilitate the transfer of cultures, and has done too many collabs with the EN crew to name (it helps that he’s also very outgoing unlike, say, Elira, who’s also proficient at both languages but is held back by her shyness). I don’t know nearly every EN-JP collab there was, as I’m not THAT into Nijisanji, but it seems like there are a couple JP members who are more inclined to participate in EN collabs, people like Chigusa for example, who appeared in that early Gartic Phone stream and then just recently in a DBD collab. I’ve seen several collabs with Lain, and a few others I can’t quite recall. It maybe seems like the newer JP vtubers seem more likely to collab with EN, possibly because they’re less entrenched in prior, longstanding arrangements. There’ve been, though, a couple of larger streams with the JP “old guard;” that board game one that Elira participated in with Kenmochi and Debiru, for instance, and wasn’t there a Sea of Thieves collab with a TON of EN and JP members a while back? As for Kanae streams, I don’t know exactly how many times he’s collabed with EN members, as I don’t have enough time to keep tabs on all of Nijisanji’s whereabouts, but I know that he’s had a fair few interactions with Selen through Apex-which makes sense, game recognizing game and all. There’s a clip of Kanae learning and using “that’s cap” which is fucking hilarious. I think he also interacted with Nina? And during his totsumachi then Elira and Reimu popped in, but they were still very nervous around him. Honestly, it’s probably most likely that Kanae would spend time with someone like Selen more than anyone else, because she’s good at Apex, talkative, and fairly irreverent regarding senpai-kouhai relationships. Too bad Selen has no japanese ability and Kanae has no english ability. Overall, I think Kanae has been fairly hesitant to collab with EN members precisely because of his lack of confidence in english-he can usually make his point come across after enough time, sure, but he doesn’t have the comfort and ability to handle situations nearly as skillfully as he would in Japanese. But that’s just my own personal analysis. If I had to guess, we could possibly see a somewhat larger wave of EN-JP collabs following the debut of Luxiem because of the variety of having EN boys and Shu’s skill in japanese, but that could just be some hopeful thinking. I know that recent Niji EN debuts have caught the attention of some JP livers, like Ange has a thing for Nina and Utako-neesan has a thing for the BL dynamics in Luxiem. And that’s without even mentioning the excess of ID and KR collabs with people like Mika and Hada, but that’s beyond the scope of this comment. Only time will tell for the future of international collabs, but I’m as always hoping to see more interesting interactions between livers of all kinds.
