Some quick thoughts on why the biggest problem in professional boxing stems from the fact there are too many belts and too many weight classes. The IBF, WBO, WBC, and WBA really need to get clean up this tremendous mess they have created.

The WBC did a new weight class called Bridger weight.. it's under heavyweight and after cruiserweight. It's called Bridger cause of that kid who saved his daughter from a dog attack. Nice for the kid..but unnecessary for the boxing world

The only thing I liked to hear that he hated was a new light cruiserweight division. Idk if I'll ever go pro or not but i walk around like 185 and I'm still growing in weight sense I'm 17 and I'm about 6 1/2 6ft 1 around there. I always thought if I went pro 175 would be too skinny for me to make that weight especially sense I'm still growing in weight and 200 would be to fat for me to walk at so I feel like 190 is just perfect.

One of the reasons my main focus shifted from boxing to mma a little while back. Dana might pull some shady shit every now and then, but at least (for the most part) we see the best fighters in the world fighting the other bests when it actually matters, as opposed to boxing. The popularity contest is just as bad though. Sometimes I question why the UFC even have a rankings system. Right now at 125 they gave the #4 Ranked Alex Perez the title shot when the #2 ranked contender is fighting on the SAME CARD. Something needs to be done about this in combat sports period.

Problem is that everyone sees it, but no one does anything about it, because either they're trapped in the system or it's not in their interests to do so. A boxing revolution would require all active fighters to form a union/players association. Without them, the alphabet bodies are dead. Then, they'd have leverage to negotiate a legit structure.

Interim, Regular, Franchise, Diamond, IBO, Lineal, Intercontinental, and other bs championships does not count. Prymary's point is that, a fighter could hold 4 belts for the undisputed and there would be other fighters that will be called regular, franchise, or other bs champion so there is no point of being called undisputed if other fighters in the same division can be called world champions.

Been following boxing since the 70,s, and long before the day's of social media, you knew who the world champion's were in most weight divisions, and generally had the best fighting the best for title's no Gold, Silver, Diamond, regular, super or franchise belts required, now with all the weight divisions and another to come, it,s impossible to remember who is the champions in a lot of the weight classes, boxing has always been a brutal sport and to finally get your hands on a world championship belt meant you had reached the pinnacle of the sport, you had achieved your childhood dream, you where recognised as the best of the rest. Exactly what I've been feeling. Great rant from Rummy! I wish we could go to 9 weight classes but I don't see how that happens now. I can ignore all of the belt BS and go to organizations like The Ring and Transnational Boxing Rankings to try to get some idea what is really going on. I love Remy but I disagree with him on the amount of weight classes. Yes there are too many damn belts that's for sure. But I think it's good that there are plenty of weight classes so that fighters don't have to cut an extreme amount of weight to be competitive or fight way bigger guys so they don't have to cut weight. This is a real problem in the UFC and MMA in general. So, the weight classes are good but the belts are excessive in my opinion. Except for the proposed super cruiserweight division, that's freaking ridiculous

Yeah while the point is correct the timing comes from self interest for me. He makes this point straight after the Loma Lopez unification fight. While Rummys point about two WBC belts is spot on, let's not forget it was the two best fighters in the division coming together. I think Floyd's timing is about trying to take some of the gloss from that fight away, and not because he's only just realised that there are too many belts
