Was there ever a time when the FL wasn’t upset with the ML for one thing or the other? I understand she’s been through a lot, but there were times the character felt insufferable. There’s been an annoying pandemic of self-righteous FL characters in romantic dramas who are ready to forgive every living creature, but their romantic partners get little to no tolerance. He doesn’t have to be a doormat to establish that he loves her.

Oh thank G**. I thought I may be the only one who thought she was getting on my nerves. Her weakness is highlighted even more when in contrast to the ML’s strength. Admittedly, I’m only about 55 minutes in. I came to comments to see if I wanted to continue. I have seen very good dramas where the FL was soft spoken but she never came off as weak. I’m hoping this will turn into one of those very good drama if I continue it.

It's like you didn't understand anything about the character or story. For the last 8 years shed been repressing what she wants & how she feels as atonement. So she allowed her father to browbeat her & her fiance to treat her any kind of way. The ML gave her the courage to express herself freely. And sometimes it meant getting angry when he upset her.

This is a good drama though a bit draggy at some parts. I love how dedicated ML was towards FL. He was so loving, protective and nurturing from start to end. Seeing their relationship grow is so adorable. Only thing that makes me facepalm a lot is how much a doormat FL is. Most of the show is about her being bullied (especially by her own family) and ML comes to her rescue. Maybe that's how writers want to portray FL character as kind but it makes her seem to be brainless. When the writers finally had someone slap them awake and gave the FL a little bit of backbone, then the story ends. I felt the end was too abrupt though.

It's not a bad script, but the subtitle translation is very literal. That is to say, the words made sense, but it was often difficult to understand what they actually meant. Lots of idioms in this one that aren't super common to short dramas. Mandarin is very visual and poetic with the phrasing, which is lovely, but it's not always easy to tell what the phrases mean without more context. That said, I understand life-saving grace and owing someone for saving yours, but the explanation of the 3 families and how and why they were connected was very confusing to me. Decent acting. No drugging or SA.
