it really doesnt. they probably use your position and angle as a factor in deciding recoil (because thats a better random than generated random) and if you use enough accuracy, even miniscule differences in position and and angle can result in different or vastly different recoil patterns.

Recoil isn't quite "random" It uses a subset of pre defined patterns most likely, Might be a batch of lets say, 50 patterns per gun etc.

That's what I think is happening. It would reduce the load on the... client CPU? servers?... if they weren't constantly calculating where the next shot is going to land. With enough pre-defined patterns, it basically does end up being random enough in actual gameplay.

Randomness in computers is not random. Usually how random numbers work in comptuers is basically you get a 'seed' number, which is the initial state of the random number generator, then each time you ask for a new random number it will change the seed by doing some fairly simple math, then set the seed as that new number. In this case it must have had the same starting seed somehow (ideally the seed will be set from the date/time initially, since it will never be the same).

My guess is that for recoil patterns, what they mean by random, is that there are recoil patterns set up already that are randomly selected for the player in game.

This season on console has had the most keyboard and mouse players and its really apparent how much of an advantage it is when void edge casual games the top frag had 5 kills at the end and now the usual top frag of a 3 round game has 11+ kills because they're using keyboard and mouse against controller players

Yeah, feels like some guns roll random numbers to determine each shot's impact, while others just create an illusion of this by cycling through different preset patterns that appear random individually. Having completely different ways of generating recoil for different weapons would certainly be peak Ubisoft. I wonder if and how the weapon attachments interact with these systems? It's completely anecdotal, but I've felt for a long time that certain weapons are actually easier to control without attachments, and this might explain why.

Yes! Technically. Sort of. An intended bug would be one of those "so good that it's a feature now" sort of bugs. Or a bug that's deemed acceptable if doesn't harm the player experience in any substantial way (like sometimes SFX for opening a pause menu doesn't play, for example).

Well I know for sure Fuze's lmg hiofire is bugged somewhat. It follows the exact same first shit pattern. If you tap fire you will literally get a perfect circle made out of the same 8 bullet pattern. You can actually line up one taps from accross the map with it because you'll know where the shot will land dead on. Some of the secondary smg's maybe suffer from this as well maybe?

perhaps the recoil patterns for the guns are a series of small spray patterns assigned to the gun in a random order? that would explain why they would match up for some cases, but not always have the same exact spray.

I hope they do change some of the secondary mp’s recoil at least a little bit. Maybe not to their prime levels, but I really hate using them (aside from the SMG-11 on my good days) outside of 3 meters. I was a believer of the recoil change rumor at first, and my subjective testing led me to change from flash hider to compensator on my SMG-11s for the new season.

about the identical recoil patterns: there are 2 most probable answers. 1)the randomisation algorithm works using a seed (input number that changes the result), which varies with every bullet shot or every magazine, and this seed repeats in every game if the bullets are shot in the same way. 2) the recoil patterns are hard-coded for every single gun. I sincerely hope for the first possibility since in a chaotic game like siege it is practically impossible to replicate the same shot patterns again and again and therefore learn the recoil. Also the second one would be an incredibly bad way of coding. (modified cuz my english sux)

The audio bugs for the kill cams are worse now (on console, at least). In every single kill cam, footsteps and gunshots are silent. The only exception to this is gunshots of suppressed weapons. Strangely enough, if you're using a suppressed weapon, there's a chance it will sound unsuppressed in the kill cam. This happened with my suppressed M4 in the round ending kill cam.

We just had a bug where the garage wall on consulate was indestructible, even though thermite blew open the reinforcement the soft wall was left underneath and you couldn’t destroy it

Hello Rogue-9! I’m a fan of your videos, and I have something that you could look into, if you haven’t already. I have found that I can pretty consistently, if timed right, fire a bullet as my gun fills with bullets during a reload. This causes the bullet I fire to come from the old mag, while simultaneously putting a full mag of bullets into the gun. This can be interesting for guns like the BOSG, because it can cause you to shoot 3 bullets instead of 2, if timed right. Keep in mind that I’m on Xbox. Just a little something I wanted to share somewhere.

I'm not sure if it has been changed but I feel like Thermite exothermic charge doesn't have the same "power" than before. There was some tricks where you can place Thermite' s charge on the ceiling of a room and the blow explosion can destroy 1/3 of the below reinforced wall. It was a nice trick to bypass electrified walls. Now, it seems the blow radius is lower and if you don't place the charge correctly, either it doesn't blow the reinforced wall, either it destroys only the reinforced part, still the soft wall behind is intact.

It was only the Bearing-9 and it was only before the first Steel Wave patch. It had crazy low vertical recoil but the horizontal was the same. If it's possible to download that build you can try and see.

Maybe it's just me getting better at handling it but in the transition between seasons I noticed the smg-12 seemed to have less 1st and 2nd shot recoil during short bursts maybe it's just a visual thing idk but I feel much more confident with it now than last season

During playing this season we noticed that the player model sometimes bugs. People seem to be looking straight ahead, but could potentially be aiming 90° left, straight at you. The Player model seems to look elseware then the actual player does. In the Killcam and the "zoom in" before the kill cam, the person was aiming the way they shot, but from our perspective while alive, they didnt.

While i cant say for secondary smgs, valks MPX, alibis Mx4 and thermites 556xi all gained more recoil after grim sky on console as almost every player ran angled grip on valk and alibi and now they run vertical as they have more recoil of which i confirmed in a test of watching previously recorded material. With thermite i see very few players running acogs now with success, most run non acogs now. In fsct there was one patch that made the smg12 relatively controllable to where it was viable at short range and mid in bursts for 1mth, then a patch fixing bugs came out and it was back to being almost unusable again.

Maybe the randomness in the recoil pattern is only calculated on the first shot and that determines the overall pattern until you stop shooting. It could be that there is a hidden number or seed that is constantly changing based off of in game time or other factors that simulates randomness.

I was thinking similarily. There are implementations of "random" in programming libraries, such as C-languages standard random number generator, that might not get random enough initial seeds which then results in the same sequence of "random" numbers from one run of a program to the next. The interesting bit to know then is that is this weapon spesific, character spesific or game/round spesific seed. Or maybe something completely different.

In my case, the melee hit range and headshot hitbox both seemed to have changed. Or so i think. Idk really.. But there have been multiple instances where i was hit by a melee that's super far, and supposedly headshots miss. R6 needs a replay available for download.

I have the personal challenge of landing secondary weapon kills and with weapons with suppressors, so it may be that people are running suppressors for that. Even if "personal" also means that they are random, they probably aren't too varied that a lot of players don't get the same challenges as me. It could just be "personal" to separate from the community challenge, where you only need to participate once I think and that the personal challenges are all the same for everyone, secondary and suppressor kills included.

I can explain how the recoil patters ended up the same. Basically there is no such thing as random when it comes to computers what it is is a "seed" which is a number that goes through a long mathematical equation to get a new number. How that "seed" is created could be different usually it using the computer's clock and the time it was on to generate one but using that in the seed wouldn't work for recoil patterns in the game. So my guess is that there are set seeds for each pattern that are being randomly picked by a number that is generated by a traditional seed. But those pre-set seeds are what causes identical recoil patterns This is just my theory as a programmer myself

You probably got hit by someone’s gadget. I can’t remember who but some ops have gadgets where if they hit you it will give you double vision. I think it was either echos drone or zofia’s cuncusion grenades but I don’t know for sure

Yes. My game doesn't start. Since the first week of Steel Wave, my game doesn't even show connection with Uplay. I uninstalled and installed again Siege, Uplay and even Steam, and nothing changes. The Task Manager doesn't show Siege either. I went to the website and there were about 10 complaints already about it. I don't play siege in about two weeks now and Siege didn't even acknowledge the problem, so this can be fixed soon or in Year 6, and I can't know. I just wish I didn't waste my money on the Season Pass this year if I knew I wouldn't be able to play the bloody game. I could be playing the Battle Pass right now, but I can't. By the way, I love your videos!

Rogue, did you ever notice the Bandit MP7 hipfire pattern when in single fire? I was shown this bit recently and I cant figure out any reason it exists. For those who dont know if you tap fire while hipfiring the MP7 it has a perfect circle pattern no matter the distance.(with or without a laser)

I watch so much pc gameplay even though I’m on Xbox and honestly it feels like rn there is some weird damage output bug in online play that randomly occurs. That and the unholy black and white vision of death 💀

I don't know if it was in the patch notes and I missed it but getting zapped by twitch is really disorienting now. Really hard for me to kill the drone if it zaps me first.

I’m not sure if it is still there but I was a sledge main and when steel wave came out if felt like his ar had more recoil

What is it with the community constantly saying that there is a change when there actually isn’t. It’s kinda funny watching someone say that the secondary SMGs got new recoil patterns.

I play with the SMG-11 everyday. It’s my favourite gun. The recoil did not change or I would be spraying downward not straight

I NEVER say secondary recoil is different. However, this time I could have sworn it's less. Maybe not. Anyway good video.

People probably have the secondary recoil thought because they are using them more for the battle pass

Idk man lately I have been going off wit the smg 11 and 12 it feels different but you fer sure are right tho!
