Is it just me or is Robert Carlyle on a whole nother level as opposed to the other actors? Don't get me wrong they are all lovely and really good at what they do, but Robert sends shivers down my spine, and gives me goosebumps whenever he speaks. Each and every damn time.

Robert Carlyle's acting is always great, but in this episode, I think he probably drew on personal experience, since in real life, his egg donor(as far as I'm concerned, she doesn't deserve to be called a mother) abandoned him when he was 4. I'm sure he's put the pain behind him now, but this had to strike a nerve in his mind.

Nina, you are absolutely right, the experiences that Robert had to go through in his childhood and youth were mostly disastrous. Being abandoned by his mother (he himself says he was three...but not that important) is traumatic and his father couldn't give him much more than love for the first few years. This time had a strong influence on him and made him who he is today. He is extremely strong in character and at the same time sensitive and empathetic. Without talking much about it, he supports, for example, projects and non-profit organizations that make the lives of homeless and disadvantaged people (especially children) a little brighter. As an actor, he immerses himself deeply in his roles (method acting), lets them get to him, allows the pain, almost loses himself in it. This is what makes his acting so extremely convincing and brilliant (always...). Robert has my utmost respect, as an actor and as a person.

Right! I don't like the Blue Fairy because she acts so self righteous, and she's selective on who she is willing to help. She basically no longer cared about Rumple because he wasn't the savior anymore, otherwise she would've stepped in, or had Tiger Lily check up on him.

@@flo1242 Yeah Blue is a self righteous little knat who thinks everything is her way or the high way and if it doesn't fit into her plans oh well it doesn't matter. She refused to help regina JUST because she was Cora's daughter, she refused to try and help rumple get back to his son (nor did she explain well to bae what the bean would do I don't believe that was AT ALL an alturistic or loving move) and here she dumps a kid into an abusive home because they are no longer important enough. Not to mention screwing things up for dreamy and nova.

I don't really blame Tiger Lily since she did have good intentions and I feel like she probably would've watched over Rumpel growing up if maybe Blue had let her. I think Blue either didn't care about him anymore once his fate was cut, or maybe saw his future of becoming the dark one and knew they couldn't interfere. I wonder if maybe not being able to help Rumpel with his father is why Tiger Lily became disillusioned with the fairies like Blue and left? She is the only fairy we know of that consciously gave up her wings and forewent being a fairy to exile herself for her part in creating the Black Fairy.

I love the way Emma sort of tries to relate to Rumple, after everything he’s done, after everything he’s put her and her family through, she still understands him! She wants to help him and yes it is for the good of all of Storybrook but you can really tell that no matter anyone’s past everyone is family there! Including Rumple! She wants to be there for her family!

He more than deserved it... In fact, Robert has only been nominated once, along with other actors, for the TV Guide Award (Favorite Ensemble). The series has been nominated a total of 91 times in different categories and has won 12 of them. Robert himself has not won a single award, he has not even been nominated. And that is incomprehensible to me, as he has shown an absolutely strong performance with the portrayal of the different sides of his role. No, I don't understand...

Pan blame his son for the losing his wife but it was her own fault that her is banish and turn evil. She try to save her son from his destiny of drying as a hero but ending up ruining his life instead live miserable life that lead him becoming the dark one. She could have end her destiny of being the great evil and being with her family but instead she ends her son destiny of being a great hero .

You're absolutely wrong. She was only the great evil because blue made her that way. Had blue not banished her she wouldn't have become the great evil. She would have severed his destiny as the savior and raised him as her son. Being a savior is a deaths sentence ultimately and isn't a good thing. She was trying to save her son and blue Fairy was being a jackass like she always does. Also, had blue and red not lied to Pan about what happens to black fairy he wouldn't have hated rumple so much. They lied and said she was dead when in fact she wasn't. They could have sent Pan and Rumple to the same place they sent her and let their family be together but they didn't and blue is a evil jackass for lying

Yeah, the oh so great Blue Fairy could not even be bothered to call child protective services, now that the boy is no longer the saviour. Seriously, she could have at least done SOMETHING. I doubt I hate any character on this show more than the hypocritical, sanctimonious, holier than thou Blue Fairy. Funny that her Storybrooke persona is a leader of a monastery, they were definitely not subtle about that at all.

And yes, while those commiting child abuse are worse than those who excuse it, Rumple's parents only freaked up his life through his childhood, and they did not pretend to be the best person in the world. The Blue Fairy has freaked up the lives of many others, never truly reflecting on her mistakes, still maintaining she is the absolute arbiter of what is moral and just. Hell, just look at Tink and Grumpy. She absolutely destroyed their happiness, while deluding herself into thinking it was the right and moral thing to do. She may be ancient, but time does not equate to wisdom.
