The whole part struck with me. Gengar set what's basically a lynch mob. After being attacked in town,you're told by Alakazam of your options; run away, prove your innocence or die. They give you till the next day where you are ready to be on the run. After which have to endure hostile environments with said mob closing in barely escaping. It's simple but so striking

As a child, I randomly happened upon this game while trading some games with a friend, at first i didn't know how to save pokemon so i just had a blast running through tiny woods and thunderwave cave. then i got the game again two years later and figured out that i was supposed to interact with the pokemone (all i knew before was that a did an attack and i didn't know if i would hurt them or not) and i was surprised at the sight that i saw, It was me A confused little Squirtle and a Charmander named pyro by my side as I ventured forth rescuing pokemon and making the world better, one day and one rescue at a time. Life at the time irl was pretty rough, and games. especially pokemon, were my escape. I was this tactician of a kid in the main games and now, now i was the leader of something amazing. but when that scene came up, when we were forced to leave, where we were forced to abandon our base and the people that needed us to survive and find the truth, I cried as a kid, the song and the situation was equal parts somber and hopeful and when the same theme played after learning the truth i cried all over again seeing Pyro's portrait and the tears on his face. This game and this moment taught me that life isn't always easy, routines are never set. and sometime's you'll have to stop doing what you love to do the most for a time for the greater good. and the other night, I reached that same moment, A cubone this time but my partner was still with me, Pyro, telling this cubone that he would travel to the ends of the earth along with him to clear his name. I paused for a good twenty minutes just staring at the screen, listening to the music, and crying. slow and gentle tears but tears all the same. every memory, and every single experience came flooding back like a tidal wave of emotion. and after about three hoursof trying to strategically dodge and fight enemies in dungeon after dungeon.... the truth was found and i happened all over again, every time i saw Pyro crying it made me want to tear up in tandem. Thank you Chunsoft, for giving a great experience for me in every pmd game you've made. And thank you Pyro, thank you for believing in this Cubone/Squirtle when no one else did, and thank you for being one of the only friends i had as a kid. you may be nothing more than a sprite or a 3D model on my screen and a bit of coding, but you were my friend regardless. And thank you PMD, for giving me Team PokemonDX (yes I named my team that) as a kid and Team Erinocia now

I mean, yes...the future games stories were more over the top...and had great elements...like Grovile in Explorers...or the frism in Gates...or even the cinematic battle at the end of Super....However, this simple story still tops them all...and I think the reason is....because of how simple it is...and you could still feel the writers pouring their hearts into it making this game perfect...even after all these years...I hope Explorers gets the same treatment...because it'd be really interested in seeing what they do with the Dark Future.

@-memoria-21364 жыл бұрын
@Random Person ...Honestly, I adore Super and it's story, but it tried way too hard to be Explorers 2. Not to mention it's hurt by it's pacing - the beginning school segment, although it does a great job at establishing the world and characters, is a drag. And although it was really enjoyable, the rest of the game (you know, the plot stuff) just felt incredibly rushed to the point. Also Dark Matter felt tacked on and made little sense - everyone's so happy-go-lucky in this game but I'm supposed to believe that the negativity of all Pokémon got so bad it almost destroyed everything?

When the nexus presets started I felt a wave of emotion. Really though those bells are nexus presets and whenever I hear them in other songs I am reminded of this and get emotional. xd

This game is so beautiful! ❤️ On a side note: is it weird that I teared up after realizing it was Gengar that saved the player and helped you get to Sky Tower? Gengar gives me the feels. 😢

So beautiful. God, the nostalgia. I can't appreciate enough how this sounds like the original piece, just remastered and added to

I’m a little late to the party, but I finally got this game for myself, and just finished the fugitive arc. And man, what a tonal whiplash! The friendly town that’s been nothing but welcoming turns on you in an instant because of their own fear. Even coming back felt a little wrong, like it could disappear again at any moment…

0:52 This whole part really gives me Super Mystery Dungeon vibes, and it reminds me of the partner theme from that game, especially 1:16.

Only 4 videogame songs have been able to make me tear up for one reason or another. Those being this, Riki's Tenderness (Xenoblade Chronicles), It is Finished (Mother 3) and Catastrophe (Corpse Party)

After replaying it, I think it was this part that struck me the most in the story. I knew already about the song that played during the parting, but I didn't knew a slight 'reprise' of it played at this part. And knowing the context of it, that Alakazam know what must be done to save the world, and he could probably manage that right there, but he still wanted to give them the chance to clear up their name. That really broke me up.

Hearing the new version of this classic song felt magical, I found myself staring at the screen and getting lost in the music during the scene it first played.

Did anybody else expect there to be a choice beforehand to have your character brave through the perilous journey to Ninetails alone, thus saving your partner from being a fugitive as well?
@leeeroyjenkins5554 жыл бұрын
Now this is a good remix. I still think Partner's theme from psm is the best emotional theme, but this is a close second
