PanicFox What I mean by cryptic is that the lyrics have more properties that make them inaccessible on the first few listens. His lyrics contain more metaphors than Mike who paints clear images. Having more metaphors isn't better than being clear (of fucking course), but it does make the song more "cryptic"; as in, the song will take longer to decode to get a clear picture of what the artist is trying to say and do. Unless you think Nabokov is as easy to read as a Wikipedia page, you should agree. I'll defend my word choice to the death on this one.

everything here was built because of industry if you take the industry away the civilization goes away people came here and drove from the country during the industrial revolution actually Cincinnati's kind of a famous place for runaway slaves runaway slaves could come to Cincinnati and get fucking jobs you know so that goes back to you want your share of what motherfuckers always want
