The crash into the caboose was done with 1 inch scale models, provided by Jack Sessum of Redlands, CA. He also did the SP 4449 crash in the 1986 film "Tough Guys".

if you watch the footage carefully, you can see that the caboose actually clears the runaway's path. The ARRC placed some tight restrictions on Cannon Films regarding safety and they were not permitted to show the "Alaska Railroad" name or logo on any piece of equipment that's why there all gray.

LOVED IT, you nailed the lash up. minus the FT was a F3 in the movie,but still Good, You know the train would have derailed when it hit the caboose in real life

Most of the mistakes and errors in the film revolve around the locomotives the most obvious one being that the Eastbound 12 continually suffers from an identity crisis! When we first see it, the locomotive is a single GP40, and a lot of snow on the front. In the next shot, it has changed to a pair of Alco MRS locomotives belching a lot of smoke. The consist has also changed, from blue hopper cars to a mix of flat and box cars. the caboose also changes color, from yellow, to gray.

Kick Butt Good job! Do a sequel! BTW: to the members There was another train film called "Runaway" Which a ski train with people without brakes is a runaway heading towards a dead end. This movie was done in the 70's I have it. Hope this helps. Lenell B.

she knew exactley how to stop it, she couldnt stop it due to the damage to the lead engine, and the fact the door on the old a unit was damaged and wouldnt open. all the units were controlled from the lead engine.

In the movie I liked how creepy the lead engine looked all smashed up, with pieces of twisted metal waving in the wind. Looked almost like a ghost train bound for hell.
