FSCKn Detroits! 25 years ago, I was working on a Gama Goat (US Army M561), trying to the stab the transmission back in, after replacing the clutch. Nothing was lining up, so I said to my partner, "Let's bump it over." I grabbed the fuel shut-off and the throttle and told him to bump the starter. Unbeknownst to me, I had the the two levers backwards. That little 3N-53 TOOK OFF! We bailed over the sides... Only to have that little motor purring as sweet as a kitten...

That's a 71 bro. If you have a marginal rack like that, leave the vice grips on it and hold it in no fuel while you crank it. That way if it does stick it'll stick in no fuel and won't do that. 👌👌

Appreciate it, the valve covers had a double o sticker I was pretty sure it wasn’t an original cover but o figured it was off a different 92 I haven’t even looked for a serial number. I watched your video about freeing up injectors hopefully I’m home Wednesday to do that

@@Bubbles8V92 if it has a balancer its a 92 if it doesn't it's a 71. 👌👌

Cool. What boots are you wearing in this video? Looks like you've switched over to your rubber boots for the snow now, but they also looked like they were taped up on one of the toes? Would be good to see them in a future video. you should try a pair of Dunlop Thermo rubber boots for the winter. They're awesome boots.

These are an old pair of tingley boots, fantastic light comfortable boots, I had a sow cut them open by standing on my foot so now they need tape

Wondering if today`s ultra low sulfur diesel fuel may cause runaways?

No idea, I kinda blame biodiesel, it had that really yellow looking American fuel in it,

well I guess it turned over, maybe not ideal on a cold engine without having oil pressure 0-moon, but it ran, aye?! but that is a 359 short hood a real shorty not the regular "119"one everyone calls short hood, "113" BBC versions, 359 SBFA ,must've an interesting story behind, since they are really rare and mostly only seen in east coast cities due tae length restrictions in the 70-80's

It’s a set back axle 359 it’s the only one I’ve ever seen like it

Now that I know it runs I’ll change the oil, it had barely gotten any into the head yet, I should have let it crank for a bit longer honestly

Ouch! Stuck injector?

ya, i gues just because the rack is free doesnt mean they wont stick once they have cycled, no idea when it last ran.

I’ll purchase CAT engines before I would accept all the Detroit engines in the world for free……junk😮
