I have a large t8 and its 32.2lbs. I enjoy the journey of upgrading

I've had mine for a few years now. It's a great bike right out of the box. The Fox fork and shock come alive with the addition of a couple of tokens up front and a new rear token. I added 3 to my fork and changed the shock to the Red token. Rides completely different. Wolf Tooth makes a nice remote dropper actuator in purple. It looks sweet on the bike. Very nice and thorough video.

Had my T8 just over two years. Was a great starter bike and the frame geo and standard spec is really really good for the price. Since then I’ve upgraded/replaced everything expect dropper. It now has Fox Factory 36 160mm, Factory X2 shock, full XT group set, OneUp stem, Deity bars, Reserve wheels, hydra i9 hub. WTB seat. This bike came alive with the suspension upgrades. One thing with it is the frames bearings are fairly exposed and if you ride a bunch expect to replace them at least a year in. Also for the Shimano hubs. I had to replace every bearing on the bike. I’m about to move on now from this bike as I need a slightly larger wheel base and a bit longer travel in the rear. Plus carbon and storage.

I used to spend quite a lot of money on bikes and parts over the years and basically came to a hard realization and question, why? Since then I have sold my Enduro and DH bike along with parts and have opted for the T8 and the N9 Colossus. Both bikes were purchased for the sale price of my DH bike alone. Now I have more money in my bank, learnt to let go of being a brand snob and just enjoy having fun!

As a new rider, DSE FS (now stolen) was my first decent bike and had the dropper post lever - absolutely hated it. Never tried any other lever or to adjust it.

Is the Polygon Siskiu T8 a better value at $2K vs a Trek Fuel EX 7 Gen 5 for $2500 (new leftover)?

Gt sensor comp sells for 1800 on Jenson USA prolly the only other bike that will compete with it in that price range.

does the t8 have sliding bushings in the suspension? or just bearings?
@ChrisBakerElToro10 ай бұрын
Great video. They seem like a great value, in fact I just bought their adventure / gravel bike the Bend model. But in regards to the MTBs…not having a UDH frame is kind of a deal breaker for me. It’s not “future proof” without it. I’ve also noticed odd looking cable/hose routing around the bottom bracket area. No one really shows this in reviews, however it looks kind of janky / awkward routing. Looks not routed very well out of the down tube over the BB and into the chain stays. It looks very exposed etc. Can you or anyone here speak to this?

I really don't care for bearings in dropper post levers, I bought a used bike with the last gen super expensive pnw lever, it was the first thing to get sold on fb marketplace... My favorite one is the Giant that came with my trance x29, simple, doesn't eat cable, 32 grams... I sanded down the bumps on the face of the lever to put a piece of grip tape, perfection. Also free 😂

Yeah it is definitely a personal preference. I love them. Very cool you got yours dialed in how you like it.

Use a garbaruk cassette, it's more expensive but it is pretty good. The progression makes more sense than Shimano's
@janeblogs3249 ай бұрын
Triple the cost and same weight!
@pscion129 ай бұрын
@@janeblogs324 cost wise, yes Sunrace wins but in terms of shifting and durability, not so much. The area I ride tend to be muddy mixed with sand, so sunrace cassette tends to wear faster. Not to say that I don’t like Sunrace, I bought two cassette recently for my other bikes but if you’re going for performance, and don’t want Shimano ratio, then my choice is Garbaruk.

Yup, since Vitus exploded and the new Bossnut is £1500, the Siskiu T8 is now the best value trail bike on the planet.

This helps alot knowing they do not use a udh or microspline hub. Everything else is so good but this really holds me back from purchasing it.

I'm close the buying the Polygon Siskiu T8 29er in XL.Ive Mtbkd for>20 years and marathons, XC andntrail riding is all my thing. Mainly red trails, but do blacks, just don't chuck over jumps /drops. My question is, as a light rider, will I be able to get the suspension dialled in for my style if riding or should I go with the D series? I have a lower back disc issue and have torn my right shoulder rotator cuff, so have to go full suss again having had just a hardtail in recent years. Thanks
@RunBikeMike6 ай бұрын
If you are riding reds and blacks don’t go D series. Stick with the T. And for those trails the T8 or T9. You definitely will be able to dial it in. Make sure to grab a shock pump when checking out if you don’t have one.

I think they are changing out their stock. I ordered a 29er in November and got the sunrace build. I know others that ordered the 27.5 this past summer and still got the full SLX build. Kind of disappointing, but I did get the Black Friday deal for $1800 plus $200 in other free gear, so, hard to complain...
@jaredthompson1310 ай бұрын
Do you think that the T8 could handle a place like Howler?
@RunBikeMike10 ай бұрын
I think it could for sure. If you are going to hit the big lines more and ride there more than anywhere else locally you might look at the N7. But if you want to have a bike that would be good for all local trails then the T8 would be best.
