I just went to Two Rivers MTB Park a couple of weeks ago. The "mountain" there is incredible. Good skills park. A little hidden piece of paradise there.

I had no idea how stacked your parts bin had become! This was a sic conversion. Love it!

That turned out! Good vision and skill to see it through, impressive and creative build! Shred-it-bro

The Advent derailleur is impressive, but I would have done the exact same thing, the drivetrain is the first thing I would have changed. Upgrading is so much fun, and a must in my eyes for personalizing your bike, and making it your own. Ride1Up did a great job on this bike, but there is always room for improvements. Fantastic video, it looks great.

Don't make the same mistake tho. Shifter is way more important, it gives the actual feeling of shifting (also xt has multiple shift up and down)
@RunBikeMike7 ай бұрын
SLX also gives you multiple shifts at once down but only one for up. Down is the most important in my opinion. Plus I had SLX on hand.
@mihaichiriac4807 ай бұрын
@@RunBikeMike I am used to double upshift from my old bike. My new one as an SLX shifter and I got to say i really miss that double shift . That being said, if that was what you already had on hand, no pb. #stopthewaste :)). Maybe I sounded harsh, but I absolutely hate the bike industry for using expensive derailleurs with the lowest available shifter, when the logical choice is the other way around (up to a point).

Loooks sic. Great build. I ended up picking up a ramblas and love it out of the box for the money as an emtb. But this is a really cool video for someone who already owns this bike and wants to get on some more trails! Thanks

Could you try this conversion with a prodigy V1 without the front suspension fork? I’m assuming that it could use at least the 2.4 inch Maxxis tires from the XC model once you remove the fenders.
@RunBikeMike6 ай бұрын
You could do this on the V1 but definitely not with the stock fork. And you would have to for sure remove the fenders on the V1.

The thru axle is no issue with the prodigy xc, right

Great video with awesome insight, particularly your close out with noting you believe it’s a better commuter. I’m looking for that one do-all SUV bike - commute, recreate around town, with ability for occasional gravel and single track. This bike is way up on my list. Another bike is a hardtail that I would probably dial down a bit to make it more of a commuter. So, to attain my objective, is it better to go from commuter and make it a bit more mtb (like your route, except perhaps not quite as much), or take a hardtail and make it a commuter? A bike like the Powerfly comes to mind. Aventon’s Ramblas could be a candidate, but it is a Level 1 with top speed of 20mph. And, the few videos I’ve seen of the Ramblas in action, the motor seems unusually loud and whiny - to my inexperienced ears. What to do? Dress up a commuter or dress down a mountain bike? Again, thanks for putting together this informative and fun video and sharing your insights and knowledge!

I do like the higher speeds for commuting that the V2 offers over the Ramblas. But if you want more of a true eMTB that can commute then the Ramblas is the way to go. But if you do more commuting with light off road then the V2 would be the way to go. The ramblas’s motor is louder but nothing that is crazy.

Seems like upgrading the gen 1 prodigy at $1795 would be better given the amount of upgrades.

The geo is different on the gen 1 if you don’t get the XC version.
