Chr Berge Anything consumed in large quantities could be hazardous but not a few sprigs of pine needle tea. You shouldn’t boil the needles though as it could release terpenes but other that tasting bitter I’d be very surprised if it would still make you ill. I would perhaps avoid drinking 🌲 tea if I was pregnant but clearly that is not going to be an issue for Outdoorsman Dave. Good enquiry.

@@Mr0r7ega The TV show "Vikings" is not very historically accurate. Many people do not know the real history of the Norse or Vikings.
@johbowfor
@johbowfor 5 жыл бұрын
@@Mr0r7ega I would argue that if what people are thinking of is Hollywood movies/TV when someone says "Vikings", then they are not remembering the real time of Vikings or Scandinavia, they are instead thinking of a made-up low-fantasy version. The real history of Vikings has largely become a time forgotten to the general population and has been replaced with fiction.
@popcorns6472
@popcorns6472 4 жыл бұрын
Why is it sorely missed? Super hard to survive, the smallest injury/illness could kill you, constant potential threat of starvation, predators, other people; the list goes on. It's weird how much people fetishize history. The majority of humans, up until very recently, had to struggle vs nature to survive. If you 'sorely miss' any of those things, your priorities are fucked.
@beepIL
@beepIL 4 жыл бұрын
@@popcorns6472 But things were also a lot more simple in terms of what is expected of you, what you do in your day to day life (not necessarily easy, but simple), maybe someone bombarded with information constantly and living in a rat race, can appreciate the change of pace in life such as this. I would say that it is nice to have a trip of that sort to clear the mind, like the guy making the video did, rather than actually live that life for good, and "miss it".
@christianh4723
@christianh4723 4 жыл бұрын
@@popcorns6472 It's the allure of simplicity and magnification of the "simple things." There is no doubt in my mind that a person from 500-1000 years ago would opt for the ease and comfort of modern living, if given the choice. They'd laugh their ass off at all of the comments praising this kind of existence as a superior lifestyle. That doesn't change the fact that, for the "following" masses these days, modern life is pretty empty. Especially for the urbanites.

From what little experience I have made this summer with my trip I can tell the most difficult part of making such videos is actually filming what you are doing. This makes me even more admire your focus on great imagery and actually telling a story with your films. This is a level of skill really off the charts. By the way, thank you so much Rune Malte Bertram-Nielsen for your very kind and helpful answer on one of my other comments on your other video. I made my trip and it went terrible, but I survived and I am glad and thankful I had this experience! :) It really gave me the opportunity to see my life from a totally different perspective. Which made my everyday-life so much more enjoyable. Thank you for the time you took answering me!

Think about it, he has a host of 30 second clips, he’s a pro in the wilderness and he has someone else who is good with cameras, they stay silent for each 30 second clip and then hand out the rest of the time. Pretty sure I’m right about this.
