I disagree. Efficiency is a choice. I choose to have fun. If I don’t feel like doing quests, I won’t. If I don’t want to do my dailies, I won’t. If I don’t want to do any monthlies, I won’t. I choose to do what I want to do. And I’m almost maxed at this point. Any sort of boss drop feels great because it is a meaningful upgrade to my account. I think opting out of MTX is a great argument to play ironman as well. It is being shoved down your throat as soon as you log in every time, it’s nice to not be distracted by that. With that being said. I can see your point, but I disagree. Ironman mode is a great way to play the game.

dahek? I also would prefer daily/weeklies etc are not a thing. but outside of this, I'm going to have to disagree on most things. The reasons I prefer Iron: - It makes you do all kinds of content/bosses instead of just the most optimal money maker you have to buy everything - Drops feel more rewarding as they actually meaningfully upgrade your account. - Being able to opt out of MTX absolutely is a HUGE pillar of the mode for me and many others and cant just be dismissed. When I log onto my non-iron and see all the BXP, TH items and popups for keys and such, it truly does depress me like nothing else. I would say MTX in this game is so bad that i can't recommend RS3 to anyone in good conscience even though It is my most played game. - You actually find interesting ways to train skills/collect resources. instead of just doing proteins/lamps for skills you dont like. or doing 1 money maker to get every item. - also talking about dailies "devaluing" the achievement is kind of silly as an argument to not play ironman (even though I agree these things should not be as strong as they are), saying the better alternative is to play mainscape, where literally everything has been devalued 10x, makes no sense As someone who has played both modes until the absolute endgame, I recommend anyone play iron over mainscape unless You truly don't want to spend much time on RuneSape, and like having the option to skip entire skills by paying. (but i would argue, you are much better of spending money on other games if this is you) edit: also to come back to the point of styles not being super useful, (the cryptbloom/necro thing) I agree with this too in some sense, ever since EGW, the upgrades have just been way to strong. allowing 1 drop to make you strong enough for every other boss. That being said, this is just as much an issue for mainscape generally speaking, as it has devalued the profitability of all other bosses. These absolutely are issues that need to be addressed. big problems in balance just appear more immediately obvious in ironman mode, but they impact mainscape just as much in the long term.

I only play Ironman mode because I like Experience and it's nice knowing I can't lamp stuff. Made a Hardcore Skiller just because of this too and it is so rewarding getting stuff unlocked and completed. I dont think I can ever go back to Mainscape unfortunately.
@cheekyjebus5559 Жыл бұрын
The DXP, BXP, proteans, keys, lamps, xp events etc is why I made my hardcore, it's excessive and I can't stomach the game levelling itself + all the mtx popups being as relentless as they are. I made a FSW main and it got true max just from the daily keys + events this past year, I didn't even participate in any of the double XP. It's a weird feeling to have what is essentially a desktop PC MMORPG but with a monetization scheme much more heavy handed than most mobile games out there. Jagex treats their subscribed players like they're f2p leeches in how they try to shamelessly milk them at every given opportunity. Heck even going for max bank space if you pay with bonds + no sales it's $500 AUD, absolutely ridiculous.

I strongly disagree. I have 2 endgame accounts, 1 regular and 1 ironman, and I enjoy my ironman significantly more. Yes there are some frustrating aspects (having bad luck at important bosses, duplicate drops, dinarrows, grinding dks for 10 of each ring type, and many many more), but the overall experience is much more enjoyable to me. I understand ironman mode is not for everyone, but I think its unfair to say it sucks. It pushes you to do things you wouldnt do on mainscape and keeps the game from getting stale. I also dont like how everyone complains about how it feels like dailyscape. Its simple: if you dont enjoy dailies, dont do them. Yes it’s that easy. Have some self-control people. I havent regularly done dailies in months and I’ve still made significant progress and had a great time. Ironman mode is an enjoyable way to play the game and I highly recommend it to anyone.

Play your own way. You don't _have_ to get lost in the efficiencyscape sauce. I recently started a new HCIM to do all the quests on. I've been reading all the quest dialog and going deep into all the chat options where possible. Even going as far to reading all the books and the like that I find a long the way. Really immersing myself into all the lore. I've also been taking that a step further by doing the quests in timeline order. And only training my skills high enough so they just reach the quest requirements. So I'm basically doing the quests at level, which has been a nice and rewarding challenge at times. I've also been avoiding training my skills via content that my "storyline" wouldn't have unlocked yet. So no sixth age content. Or even venturing into regions that quests haven't taken me to. I should be able to take on Legend's quest very soon. It's been such a fun and rewarding journey so far.

I totally disagree, the way you describe feel really off to me. Iroman mode is a self-sufficient game mode daily/weekly/monthly doesn't break that rule. I don't like that you can pvm with main then in the spirit of the account I don't do it. I also don't leech too, I prefer to do all activity solo if possible. I feel like a lot of the issues you have with ironman mode are not unique to rs3 . Ultimately both games have their effective ways to progress the game and this community is hyper obsessed with it . At the end of the day ironman is just adding more value to drops ( cause you earn them ) and also adding the " chores" to your progression . Ironman shouldn't be for everyone , but since it's popular a lot of things get streamlined . Great video tho!

The self-restricted ironman experience on rs3 has a lot of potential. Im playing an ezscape version of an ultimate ironman as a series right now and its been quite fun. My main restriction is I cant store stuff in the bank, and I cant use generic beasts of burden (bobs that can hold food, essence familiars and granite lobsters are fine). However, my real restriction is that I fully intend to hybrid or tribrid for combat while still not storing stuff in the bank so my gear progression looks super wacked out.

Ironman mode forces you to do content that you won’t otherwise do on a main. Plus, when i maxed my main, all i wanted to do was make as much money as possible and deal with people trying to scam/inflated prices. I love ironman mode because it forces you to be independent, be patient on drops, learn proper boss mechanics, learn to boss with gear that isn’t easy to boss with/tiers below of what you’re trying to get, etc. there’s so many things that ironman mode has made fun for me. I’ve maxed a main, i’ve comped my iron plus almost got IFB on it. I think bossing with mains was a great addition, but I don’t think it should have been unlocked until you’ve done a minimum of 50-100kills on your own first (other than group bosses of course..well the hard ones that you can’t solo easily). Plus no mtx lol. Mtx was super annoying to deal with and i personally despise it because they purposely cater towards gambling addicts..
@TheCooderix Жыл бұрын
I think that's the key word here. Force. You're forced into doing content, whether you like it or not. That's why IM mode is ultimately never the optimal way to play the game, because you are restricting yourself. Definitely disagree with a lot of your points. Yes I think there are too many dailies/weeklies etc. however I don't think irons shouldn't benefit from them. Unlike MTX or holiday event xp lamps/bonuses, these things ARE content. They are parts of the game, just because they're not training the skill in a normal way doesn't mean it's not other content. Thats what is great about this game is the diversity on how you go through your journey. I personally don't find ironman a chore. Yes there are a few insanely long grinds like blessed flask, but generally when i go through a longer grind (like making all my planks from scratch for the new fort) I feel really good about it and even enjoy the process. I will say though although I don't think that there is a linear path at all for the average player, I do think that the "best path" is too linear, it would be nice if all the combat styles had a more even viable approach so you needed certain ones at certain points in your progression.

As someone who is on his 3rd RS3 ironman (over the course of several years and attempts to play RS more), who only progressed to early mid game on the first two and am currently at early midgame on this one, you have some very valid points. The first two ironmen I had I followed the efficient ironman guide. As you said, time is a valuable resource. Therefore, it's natural to want to be efficient to get to the end game content ASAP, and not doing your D&D's feels like you're wasting time on the account. As someone who enjoys 100%ing every game I play, it's very tough not to, especially on this game I've made SEVERAL accounts on since 2004 and have experienced the early game numerous times before. When I started this third ironman a month ago, I fell into the same trap of using the Efficient Ironman Guide. Then somewhere around step 30, I stopped and thought to myself I'm going to just fall off once it becomes dailyscape again. What I changed was that I focused on being social and joined an active ironman clan at 180 total level. The next thing I did was LIMIT myself by saying I would do quests in order of Timeline, as a lot of the post-fifth age stuff I have no clue what's going on lore wise. This made the game a lot more enjoyable for me, and it flowed well. My goals stemmed from quest requirements rather than how quickly can I do this, causing me to have a better progression experience. However, I hit a wall with needing a high 40s construction level, with lv19 construction. Everyone in my clan told me to do Fort Forinthry, but I was deadset on doing quests by Timeline. But once I started going into training construction the old school way, it became a chore to me as well as a loss of efficiency. Enough so, that I began that questline, and am very glad I did. Once the level was attained, I went right back to my Timeline order rather than giving up on my goal. The moral of my small story here is, I limited myself when efficiency felt like a mindless chore. But I also opened up some of those limitations when the limitations themselves felt like a chore. By finding a nice balance, and managing that balance, I have had one of the greatest early game experiences in my 20 years of playing this game. I believe a lot of people fail to find that middle ground, and end up either burnt out, or just don't have a good experience with the game. At the end of the day - we as players do what we WANT or FEEL like doing in this game like any other,. However, just like in the real world, sometimes what we think we want, need, or feel... isn't necessarily right for us.

Ironman is awesome in all my years of playing RuneScape especially after the release of the GE you never have to set into the content to earn the gear you could just by it. Playing as an iron man I trained up to get my Guthix staff and cape plus my magic amulet and frem helmet I’m pushing +60 magic damage and after multiple failed attempts at the giant mole I cleared 3 in one inventory. That progress hits different than going to the GE once I’ve unlocked the level. Or finally hitting milestones in herb to 38 unlock prayer potions which really opens you up for more content. once I unlocked them farming green and blue dragons for hide became another day at the office.

Area locked iron man videos are filled with abusing genies for lamps. Your end game iron man problem is a lack of potions not not having high enough herblore. There are places you can farm every single herb with low effort afk.. did you not know this? Heres the thing. I disliked your video and left a comment so you won those interactions. IM is for those who need that carrot on a stick that decides what content they should do next, not necessarily out of enjoyment, but because it's the logical next step for your account progression. Main accounts are called that for a reason, it's the main way to play the game, you decide what you wanna do, what content makes sense for you and there's ways to bypass content that you don't necessarily enjoy doing - this is a argument for why many choose to play IM, but imo it would benefit people more to just get over the mental hurdle of "I need to do x content over y content because it's more profitable" or "this boss isn't worth doing" and instead just play the game for fun. I'd never just outright recommend IM to a new player, because it IS a restriction, but it clearly exists for a certain audience and that's great.

I haven't touched a daily in over a year. I don't engage with it. On some level, Ironman is a bore; but, that is just due to the idea you have to grind everything yourself. That said, I think the issue you are bringing to light in this video isn't specifically related to ironmen; or even RuneScape as a whole. It's player base issue, it's common in every games where people want to get the most efficiency every time they play any game; no matter the context. Just look at helldivers, a game that is built on the basis of just having fun; there was a rampant gatekeeping issue after launch due to people trying to be efficient. I don't think the progressions path in rs3 is linear. That said; I do believe the ease of upgrading with necromancy does outshine all the other combat styles and incentivized players to utilize that style over the others. As for animate date thing; I sincerely disagree, to get theres 3 functionable mage tank armors you can use and each of them is a massive chore to obtain; seasingers requires a consistent ports upkeep, gano needs 95 crafting (imo harder to train than herblore nowadays lol); and crypt bloom well you gotta get the drop first alongside the 90 crafting. I would just say; engage with the content you want to engage with. Don't worry about anythign else

I play Ironman because that's just how I tend to play. Not seeing the online casino is a bonus. people that leach as an ironman are baffling. Why Ironman at that point? The big trouble with dailies on Ironman is that they're practically required. Stuff like the red sandstone can be obnoxious. I don't usually do many of the xp dailies unless they give a book or lamp I can throw at a skill I don't like. Even then I usually forget they exist. Daily challenges still require training the skill they just give a lot more for that bit of skilling. That can really help keep old broken skills like agility or DG bearable. The main thing I find frustrating is when common items require items from diffuse sources. Congealed blood, elder god anima, etc. It takes that grind to new levels. Collecting it yourself should always be an option. Can't say your progression path ever occurred to me. I started hybriding at barrows and punched my way up the ladder. xp rate and time efficiency aren't everything. Don't optimize the fun out. Don't deoptimize the fun out either. Don't like something? Don't play it. Nothing forces you to boss with mains. Nothing forces you to take that optimal daily and weekly path. Meander! Explore! Do the Stuff!

But honestly, with so many ironmen around leeching and so forth, it kind of kills the game for me. The only difference nowadays between an IM and a regular character is, ironmen can't really trade or use the GE...for the most part. They can drop items on the ground and get paid via a bond I suppose. Yuck. It's never been easier to be an iron.

I love ironman mode. I've been maining hcim since 2018ish. I think the early and late mid to end game ironman mode is very fun and rewarding but there is a chunk in the early mid game, lvl50ish through 75ish depending on the skill, that is complete doodoo where the training methods available are either slow, boring or both. There is also an issue when it comes to grinding out t90/92 gear where you're stuck having to grind out group bosses for most of the gear. The introduction of t95s was sort of a bandaid fix but youre still looking at skipping gear tiers and in the case of magic being stuck with either 80 power armour or tank armour. Daily scape can be real but its not really necessary. I only do challenges, vis wax, and crystal flasks and ive been able to get 2 hcim to pretty decent standings. A lot of the dnds are for generally fast skills or drop off to the point where they feel like a waste of time like herby werby does

You can also still ignore the MTX usually by converting treasure hunter exp rewards into oddments and any cash/item wins just invest it into Bonds or Cosmetics to keep the 'feel' of earning money through gameplay.

Maxed iron going for comp here I agree with some of this video, but not all of it. As always, good to see you sharing your thoughts Chev never a bad thing :) I do agree that dailies are a little too OP like caches but sadly Divination has been poorly balanced for years. Even after the small rebalance they did a few years ago, it's still horrible to train normally. Not just for irons but mains too because if I want 120 div on my main i'm using daily challenges, Jack of Trades and caches with hall of memory parties on DXP events. It's just how that skill is and effects both irons and mains Should penguins and herby werby etc. be allowed as well? technically no, it does make skills like herb easier like you say (currently going for 120 herb using alot of daily/weekly/monthly XP giving methods) which can devalue iron mode for some but it's a matter of perspective. With things like penguins, I'd say that irons can choose to do these or not if they want. Sure it'll mean me doing penguins gives me an advantage over someone who doesn't but if ironman B thinks it'll make the game easier for them and they don't want that, i'd encourage ironman B to not do penguins. My friend who used to play ironman on rs3, now osrs main didn't do penguins as he didn't like them and that's fine. The one thing I will say is that i'd hate for ironman mode in rs3 to start moving towards what osrs has because they're two different types of games. RS3 is focused on fast paced XP and combat with more QOL and modern graphics while OSRS is more nostalgic and slower paced. Also i've tried to get success on osrs iron 3 or 4 times in the past on different accounts and can thoroughly say I did not enjoy it. Maybe it's post-max perma burn out for me but osrs iron imo is too slow, boring and grindy whereas rs3 iron early game is fast paced with lodestones and alot of fast XP to grind through normal gameplay. Finally, referring to what you said about how ironman mode shouldn't be played just to avoid mtx, I do agree but it is the main reason most irons play the mode including me. I got 120 dung on the main through XP lamps via the oddment store as well as TH and sinkholes daily. The amount of lamps you can get through TH these days is absolutely bonkers and while that's just the sort of game RS3 is these days, lots of people hate it, myself included and so a big part of irons for us is to get away permanently from the MTX rubbish but yh, agreed it shouldn't be the only reason. If I wasn't having fun on ironman mode, I would have quit inside 3 months instead of still going strongly daily a year and a half later. Good video overall man :)

Waiting days/weeks shouldn't be the best way to progress. I have begun playing a Ironman with no D&Ds (I do allow some). And it's so much more fun. I disagree with Nerco being the only style to use. During the early game Magic is just better with access to teleports and enchanting. You also get heaps of melee xp from quests so you don't need to train melee. Nerco does needs you to train a bunch of other skills which is a con. Magic Logs are hard to acquire on a Ironman Level 80 Woodcutting isn't easy.

for me, its certain items in ea skill that carry the use. example: if they added blue blubbers/sailfish to the drop tables, that would make your 2-4k hours depending on which fishing method you do feel like actual shit while training said skill. take rocktails for example, fishing those manually feels like complete shit cause its objectively better to get them via telos (minus passively via swarm currently) ... they instantly made that piece of content feel retarded to train. they need to realize their secret sauce was providing a an equal pillar in gameplay separation, clues/pvm/quests/pking/skilling/economy/social which prevented a user from getting bored/keeping them stimulated. the more they merge for 'convenience/saving time' the faster the user will get bored for who doesnt want to participate in whatever pillar was merged into.

Ironman is kinda necessary to enjoy RS3 IMO, but not because of MTX. For several years now, general RS3 development has seen content releases consistently be targeted as being powerful enough to see high engagement rates ahead of being a good, balanced part of the game. Supply grinding on RS3 iron used to feel really rewarding - it was hard but you'd get a small contribution towards your grind from slayer/boss drops. GWD3 in particular just completely blasted that balance. Combine that with whining from a substantial part of the new ironman community who are really just playing ironman to avoid MTX rather than because they want to play an iron, which results in access to a lot of stuff that irons really shouldn't have access to, it's just degraded so much as an experience over the last few years. Right now the only reason to play RS3 over OSRS is the combat IMO.

I made my iron 2-3 years ago and my main 15+ years ago. Main is maxed and the iron is like ~2750 Ttl. I have a family of 3 kids with a wife and I'm almost 30... I only play my iron but I don't really like it anymore at the state that my account is in. The hours and hours and hours of rituals I have to do to get the ectoplasm I need is sad when my main can spend 30 seconds and just have it. Spending hours getting div energy for invention sucks. Dungeoneering sucks , why can't we do sinkholes tbh or delete the skill. Idk I don't get the satisfaction anymore from "not using mtx" like now I'm passed that part and I'm tired of grinding to simply maintain. Midgame was fun but now it's just meh

I dont want to start over in this game. Its extremely grindy and I'd never complete it or be able to do most the content without the G.E. and MTX. I guinely just don't find killing a hard boss a bajillion times fun. Its something to focus on and do maybe 20 times and then its boring and like you said, a chore. I enjoy the AFKness of RS over other games. This game just hides all its fun, and I can do the fun stuff now and I don't want to give that up. I think Iron man mode does need more focus from Jagex. Iron man mode is the ground floor of the game, it should be the natural state. The person should get into a mode where they don't feel the need to go to the G.E. because its more fun to go do something. Everything should feel balanced.

I honestly can't understand why people were so draw to an ironman mode in a low-difficulty MMORPG like RS3 that boils down to following guides on Wiki in order to perform repetitive and non-challeging griding that, in a lot of cases, can be done almost entirely AFKing. At the end of the day, it all comes down to dailies, weeklies, monthslies that are absolutely random and meaningless, not to mention the stupid exp lamps which kill all the immersion we used to have while skilling in a rich and complex world like Gielinor. I respect players who disagree with me, i totally do, but IMO, ironman mode in RS3 feels like you're working for Jagex and following a list of repetitive and unchallenging virtual tasks that makes ironman players the "Employer of the Month" in the community, but with zero rewards other then a prestigious status and chat badges. Maybe ironman/hardcore mode would be much better implemented in MMORPGs that actually appeals to the player's survival ability in the context of a fairly challenging game that really requires some sort of wisdom, knowledge, intuition, dexterity or, at least, some actual gameplay skill, like WoW, PoE or even OSRS.
@HookahOtaku2 ай бұрын
because these are folks that want to ego stroke themselves to feel good. Ironman is literally singleplayer mode and its boring after a certain point. I get the no wanting the pay to win, but trade is essential in MMORPG, otherwise its a singleplayer game.
@imVix Жыл бұрын
You have a fundamental issue with the game. Dailies, weeklies, and monthlies, are content in the game. You aren't paying real money for exp, you're playing the game. You don't think RS3 ironman sucks, you think RS3 sucks. Which is a fair point to have but why make it a gamemode issue? Also, it's not like you spend 40 hours a week doing chores, you can get all of your weeklies and monthlies done in a single day, dailies take a little bit of time but other than that you can still play the game, there is tons of content that you can still do. You choosing not to do it is not an issue with the gamemode. You don't like RS3.

Ironman would be a dead game mode if they locked them out of DnD's/lamping skills like you suggest. There just wouldn't be enough people who would want that extra challenge. Most people play ironman because they like progressing through the gear/PVM side and what not, not because they want herblore to be more difficult to train. It's not a bad idea, but it wouldn't work for the community of this game.

It happens to me all the time, I got to comp with my account and dude I'm bored as shit. But I love the game so I switched to osrs, same game different paths and things to do. I still play my rs3 main, but since I'm comped I'm literally just waiting for new content to come out so I just play osrs til new content comes out. But I stopped playing super efficiently, I do what I wanna do, I wanna do ToB on osrs so I'm just skipping everything right now to get to that point. Not gonna do all the many things I should be doing. I'm having fun again with runescape.

What you said about making money in more efficient ways is exactly why I went Iron and I am so glad I did I found myself on my old main back in the day just always doing what would efficiently make me the most money, for the iron it's all about actually progressing training your skills doing a variety of bosses etc, you'll learn very quickly you don't need the best of the best gear constantly you can go about several different gearing/progression paths.

When I was playing a main, it felt bad to do anything besides whatever gives me the most gold/h. As an ironman, the rest of the game matters, for example let's look at uncut dragonstone that drops fairly commonly from mid tier pvm. If you aren't 99 crafting they are great, if you are 99 crafting, less great, but you can still toss thousands into dissassembler (precious, light, faceted components and clear parts) or use them to make dragonstone necklaces and from there porters (you always need porters). Another thing that doesn't sit well with me is that I've got over 80k oddments from this christmas event as an ironman, I imagine that on a main that would be 3 skills to 99 from 90 without even playing them. I believe dailies/weeklies are fine as they are, I don't do most of them, last time I did penguins it was 250k xp/h so not sure why anyone would be against such a low xp method existing even if it's in any skill. Daily challenges feel needed to push skills to 120 (I mean herblore/dung, I don't care about virtual 120s).

To give some background, i have a very good ironman with 3B+ xp, very close to BIS all styles, trimmed comp and 4k telos completed. Take 1: DnDs are broken and therefore they should not be a thing for ironmen. Answer: All account types have access to DnDs, removing them would not solve the problem for ironmen, if you do not want to do them you can choose not to. Furthermore it's not tackling the issue that the core xp rate for the skills are bad. Should players be more rewarded from training the actual skills one could argue yes. But the game is not balanced around irons e.g ironmen are the only account type that needs to train agility without silverhawks, a skill that hasn't had new content for a couple of years. Take 2: Getting cryptbloom early is the best way to progress your account, and you don't need other gear to do bosses. Answer: This is somewhat true, but seasoned pvmers value kill times effectively speeding up grinds, therefore you could go for hybrid setups at bosses such as AoD and Solak, but this is pretty much out the window with necromancy which is over-powered compared to the other styles (and easier to get) which doesn't feel great for progression. Take 3: Bossing with mains causes leeching. Answer: While it is more accesible to leech with mains because the community is larger, this was already a problem before the change. You could leech any boss on a fresh ironman as long as you had high level ironman friends or access to certain discords, also given how small the ironman community is finding teams for group bosses was immensely tedious in the past, I remember doing AoD for months because teams would only form at degen hours and at that point I could do at max 1-2 hours a day. Take 4: We shouldn't cater to ironmen. Answer: If you don't people won't enjoy playing ironman mode or training certain skills as an ironman. There is a reason why a lot of people would rather do DnDs than train the actual skill, because they are horrible. There are things that will never be looked at because it is so much easier to do on a main (e.g agility). But I would argue that making better more rewarding training methods would be a good thing for the game as a whole, take Hallowed Sepulcre from OldSchool it is very intense skilling, rewariding the player immensely and players love it. Take 5: Farming out seeds, planting and harvesting them is boring. Answer: Yes, this is hands down the worst update they made to RS3 when it comes to ironman mode, before you didn't have to do a lot of farming because you could pretty much sustain your potions by simply PvMing. This change has added another layer to an already long list of dailies you have to do. You have to do herb runs, make potions, get divine charges, fish blubbers, cook food, gather pure essence, do rituals, craft your own runes, gather resources for binding contracts, make them at the obelisk and go kill whatever beast you need, make scrolls, do reaper tasks to upkeep EoF, do clues to upkeep EoF, get supplies to upkeep your t92 armours, get dinarrows if you want to use your useless bow gathering dust in the corner of your bank. With all these layers added even more feels terrible and the game becomes unfun. On OldSchool it is rather simple, you get your food, cook it and make potions, that's it (with certain exceptions, such as crystal shards and runes, but that is a lesser problem). Everything else talked about in the video i somewhat agree with, it would be nice to have more communication with the ironman community and having a strong sense of integrity would bring the ironman community back to it's glory days. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

Idk why people always pretend ironman mode is "the way the game is meant to be played". No tf it's not. Even before the Grand Exchange, player-to-player trade existed and was expected. It is a MASSIVELY MULTIPLAYER game. That being said, ironman mode is a cute lil side grind that's nice to have as an option for when mainscape feels a bit dry. The last thing I would want for ironman mode in RS3 would be for it to be anything like on OSRS. I'm sorry, but certain skills are just poorly balanced in relation to others. If it was closer to a 3:1 rate for things like woodcutting and fm/fletch/construct, or a 1:1 for fishing and cooking, etc., the flow would be much more natural, but the fact of the matter is that you will not have 99 smithing by the time you have 99 mining, or anything close to that. You can easily get 99 farming in a perfectly natural way, as well as 99 slayer, without obtaining enough herbs for herblore. The game was NEVER designed to be played in ironman mode. It was designed with a player economy in mind, and skills never worked in perfect synergy with each other. Herbs and planks have always been over-valued for a similar reason. There is a built-in scarcity of these items because no one was ever expected to max out an account. Ironman mode is the furthest thing possible from the way RuneScape was "meant to be played".
