Runescape Creators Called Out On Reddit My Response
Why is there a lack of unique content on rs3 vs osrs ?
1. Algorithm hates it
2. Less views than osrs on unique content
3. People mainly pvm on rs3
4. Time to make a unique video vs guide/Less views/Less money
5.It's demotivating to work 100 hours on a video to get 100 views
Some videos to check out

Great video tbh, your points were absolutely the way it is. I usually always have a series running, because those are the videos I prefer to make and love making the most. But I actually am lucky enough to do this full time, and that wouldn't be possible if I only posted 4 series episodes a month unfortunately! If I could get away with posting 4 videos a month highly edited and purely story/series focused I absolutely would. Great video mate.

First of all thanks for the love my man! But i agree with what you are saying completely; it is like the discussion we had a while back, in reality we are just prisoners of the algorithm and are in that cycle of: if we want content to do well, we kinda have to do these fast food type of videos like updates

There are some great RS3 Taskman content creators on YT as well. There is also a lovely RS3 clues scroll content creator on YT as well. The reddit community at times are just blind bats. They rely so much on echo chambers that they refuse to do even a little bit of research.

I think another major problem with runescape content, and this in my opinion is a problem with gaming content creation as a whole, is that just playing through the game and commentating is not necessarily great content. If you as a content creator are funny, entertaining, exceptionally knowledgeable or mechanically better then other players, then yes it can be entertaining to watch. The problem comes in when a game as old as runescape has creators going through the same treadmill of content that we have seen hundreds of times already. One of the major points that differentiates settled's swampletics series from most other runescape content is not just the novelty (at that time) and the insane hours required to do the morytania locked progression, it is the way he formatted his storytelling. He took us along every step of the journey, explaining the rationalle, the planning and everything required in making the swampman great. Are there rs3 content creators who do similair things? Ofcourse, willmissit is a great example, but his style of videos is definetely a minority. TLDR: Runescape doesn't need more creators going through the same content threadmill, it needs engaging storytelling and novel ideas.

there are a lot of negative nancies on social media. in general i think creators know what they want to do AND what they need to do. i suspect creators even know that it's a "lazy" thing to do, but that there is an audience to it. creative work in general isn't always about pursuing some experimental, new, risky, time consuming idea; especially now in the age of algorithms, you gotta do stuff that isnt always fulfilling. i think some people forget this fact; at least you aren't a person on reddit posting the 999999999th "my 99/loot drop" screenshot lol

so happy to see you back, agree with everything you said but understand his point a little even though it's not really a fair point for the reasons you pointed out, haven't played much OSRS and don't plan to but I do like some of their content creators, would be amazing to see an RS3 Gelinor games(highly recommened if you haven't seen it) or some Tanzoo and Virtoso challenge style content. P.S., haven't heard of Kathaar before but def gonna check it out, some of the region locked OSRS series have been pretty good, be interestibg to see one on RS3

Also I wanna shout out a couple of newer/smaller RS3 content creators that I think are making FANTASTIC content (in addition to all the people you mentioned earlier. Waydot Just Background Noise Both of these creators are making fabulous content I really enjoy and I hope others check them out as well. They really deserve the attention.

@@lasersharks Waydot is an OSRS player doing an RSS3 ironman for the first time who is really appreciating everything without shitting on the content or EOC. He's recently been blowing up and I think just passed 15k subs. Just Background Noise is a mid-endgame maxed ironman with FANTASTIC editing skills, witty dry humor and story narrative. With just barely under 2k subs this guy is the definition of a hidden gem. Seriously, I can't wait until something goes viral and he pops off. I can't wait until he hits 100k so I can brag about subbing to him when he had less than a thousand. I can't praise these two enough. I hope someone finds this suggestion and gives them the love they deserve.

I think the reddit post is kind of true but I also dont think its RS content creators fault like there just isnt as big a demand for that type of RS3 content, I think there is a bigger demand for it nowadays with the slow drip feed of OS players coming to RS3 but might not be quite there yet to see the likes of a swampletics or by release blow up in the rs3 community

OSRS is about to start Gielinor Games 3, and RS3 has none. MrKaathar is the only interesting area locked Ironman series. I'd be fine if RS3 creators just copied OSRS. Also RS3 doesn't have a single funny content creator like J1mmy, 9Rain, Skiddler, Etc. I don't even click RS3 money making guides, maxing, or guides anymore. RS3 creators take zero risk in the content they create. How do you get in the algorithm? Here's some ideas: Take an E-girl bossing Ask one of the remaining PvPers to teach you RS3 PvP Bot Busting Play competitive mini games with friends (Like try to beat the hardest pest control with the bare minimum amount of people, play fist of guthix, or that cops and robbers game north of falador) The BEST RS3 creator collaboration was when they competed to be the first HCIM among the challengers to beat QBD.

Because its not worth our time when those videos always bomb, We have tried. Also all the creators you mentioned get enough viewers to invest as much time as they can to make these kinds of videos and still be profitable. Edit Your correct in the fact we need more creator collaboration instead of fighting over who made the guide first

You know that reddit is not the high end of runescape players right? that place is a portion of the runescape community and if i never joined reddit i could never found out how annoyed by updates and everything r/runescape is. Remember conversations about youtube, channels or the game is everywhere but what i never seen is them complaining about Twitch streamers. Something is dislike is how rich twitch rs streamers can be feeding on the stupidity of other one guy i seen today "crossfire" had 20k+ $ from combined gifts. You at least get paid by youtube but other get paid from the viewers. Good luck and remember you are not first or last that made videos some team called "RuneShark" did the same back in 2014 and many more btw "content creators" you dont make any content you talk about the content in a game.

TripledylanRS has an amazing clue series going on right now where he has to dye all his fav weapons according to a wheel that picks the weapon. It’s been hilarious and entertaining. I’m one of the people that likes having the news posts on in the background. I listened to this whole video while doing stuff around the house.
