How does Cursive know to write new music when I am depressed and need the distraction? Thank you, Tim and Cursive.

More cursive. We don't teach the kids about Cursive anymore. Thank you Tim. I love hearing your stories. Thank you for writing another one.

Excellent tight and melodic song with Jonah Ray in the video...how cool! I will be tormented by the wait for this album, and the tour isn't coming near Chicago! I'm thinking a weekend in NYC to see the show at the Bowery is 100% happening. The free Cursive show by Vans and Heineken in Brooklyn was one of the coolest experiences.

I loved Cursive when I was younger, but I don't think I'm going to connect with songs about being a pathetic adult by a man pushing 50. Both from the sense that I can't relate personally, and even if I could, would this be the right mindset to focus my energy into.

@Zynka17 - Great! Good for you! So it sounds like through all these years; you’ve managed to hold a good wife, hold a good job, and be fortunate enough to do lots of exotic international traveling! I mean c’mon now. Lyrically what do you actually expect? This IS Tim Kasher & Cursive you’re listening to here. True to form…and I just somehow can’t bring myself to ever imagine Kasher singing about how cookie-cutter comfortable, happy and successful he’s become what with how picture perfect life is… Looking past being able to “connect” to the lyrics…compositionally the musicianship here is mind blowing. Always has been with Cursive. Angular, forward thinking guitar work…the ingenious use of dissonant chord progressions by way of minor 3rds, 7ths and Triads counter balanced with the most simplistically complex subliminal polyrhythms… Sitting down and actually LISTENING to the music here…I don’t have the wherewithal to contemplate how much I’ve failed in life…this song is absolutely brilliant.

I can definitely agree about keeping your mindset where you want it. I still enjoy Cursive by reflecting how lucky I am with my wife and kids, despite not having much money or owning a home. You should listen to The prog metal band "Caligula's Horse". They really have some GREAT lyrics that have a great message. "So let me be enemy to the grinds and the racing heart Let me be hands to the cracking wall You grip when the current starts Let there be joy in the journey A lesson we learned in sound To disconnect from the shadow I must leave the ground So let me be enemy to the noose and the fading will Let me be open arms Tell the living world I am grateful still Let me be music And let me be the joyful sound I can disconnect from the shadow I can hear it now"

@@corycalvin22 honestly, I would love to see Tim having conquered his demons at this point in his life and hear that expressed in his music. Not for me, not else for anyone else who finds themself in a similar place, but because I genuinely loved his music for years, it meant a lot to me, and I want that person to have joy in him life.
