The length of time between pictures is great as it gives time to look atound the room. Thanks for the contemporary take on mid century design.

I would like to see some actual pictures of fifties and sixties interiors furnished with mid century furniture. These are nice pics, and very inspiring, but I would like to see some examples of the real thing.

You can find tens of thousands of examples all over the Internet.

I have several design books from the era. Whilst much was colonial style, this modern MCM style was one you could buy then. 1945-1967. Living Rooms looked just like this and many of these houses are Goodman and MCM originals. They are small if not renovated. 1 bath. Little closet space. Small kitchen. I lived in one in 1990s.

I do know what you mean. I grew up in that era and NEVER saw rooms that looked like the "mid-century modern" rooms on KZbin. They might have existed in Palm Springs, but most people didn't live in Palm Springs. Elsewhere, there'd be a stereotypical mid-century couch, perhaps. Or maybe there'd be Danish-type end tables. But usually it was just somewhat pleasantly arranged combinations of whatever people had, were given, inherited, or liked for some reason - all sort of put together for a general sense of "this goes okay with that." Also, the colors were never as bright. There weren't things like black walls or dark blue walls. No sputnick chandeliers. Usually no starburst clock. Little potted plants were never artfully arranged in vignettes. And even the windows of the homes built back then were never very big. Maybe there would be ONE picture window. LOL. I like many of the rooms in this video, but basically they're modern imaginations of the past by designers who combined every cliche they could find. Nice, but not at all typical of homes in that period - not even the homes built in that period. And I should add that I actually have an end-of-mid-century condo (1975) and have a mid-century-modern living room and dining area that would be worthy of inclusion in this video. I do like the style; it's just not what most people had back then.

I think this video is showing how MCM can be adapted to our time.

I think some of the furniture pieces with spindly legs look cheap.
