Great video JP! You really did great presentation with exercises and forces on the foot during a run

You're welcome! I'll glad this one was particularly helpful

Thanks for the video😉Can you go into further detail about how the calv muscles and achilles tendon are interacting with Plantar Fascia in running ?
@JPGloria2 жыл бұрын
You can think of the plantar fascia as the core of the foot in a certain way. It stabilizes that region, so the forces applied through the calf and Achilles region is optimized. If things are not stabilized enough in the foot, you may lose out on that peak force. Does that make sense or do you want me to dive even further on a part of this discussion?

@@JPGloria Thanks for the Quick answer. 😉 If you can go more into detail and provide more background Information, I will be glad. It's one thing to have some isolated information about the Plantar Fascia, calv muscles and achilles tendon. But putting this knowledge together and putting it into a sensible training program/ training session is a complete different task.

@@tommythomasson1 I see! So you are talking about how and when to apply it to a training program for runners or an athlete in general! That is part of what I do on a daily basis as a professional coach and physical therapist. However, with the perspective of being able to work with runners that are injured and performing at the highest level, there is so much to consider when programming these kinds of exercises (on top of prescribed runs), such as training history, irritability levels (of plantar fasciitis), and how it responds to different kinds of loads. I am still working on a way to appropriately distill that kind of information into a youtube video without being too reductionist or over the top.

what if your currently have chronic plantar fasciitis? would this still help? or would you need to heal first and then do these loading exercises to prevent it from coming back in the future?

How about doing sled runs/pushes to improve your Plantar Fascia for Running
@JPGloria2 жыл бұрын
It can be helpful to teach the body to load through the big toe. Just pay attention to that as you do it

But don’t weals havelock load the other fibers, which go to the smaller toes? I‘m using a thick book for this and stand on it with just the outer thirdly the toes. Also I strengthen the big toe part it using a short resistance band, strapping it over my bent knee and the big toe - now extend the foot. Pretty hard in the beginning. Hoped to see some more ideas in this video (which is good, as always).

That is true! That method is particularly useful to force the person to load through the big toe. In terms of more examples, I can always include more as well as explain things in greater detail. However, I just try to make these digestible

Running on forefoot is also a good drill.

Plantar fascia, more powerful than muscles,🥰 That's why barefoot walking is key to performance,😮
