Lovely to see Armley Park in your video. I'm surprised that back to back housing still exists. I was born in St Mary's Hospital, Armley in 1948 and my family lived in a back to back in Hyde Park at the time. The last time I was in Leeds, the old neighborhood had been demolished and redeveloped.

Oh wow, you've some memories of the area then! And I'm assuming you knew about the steps?! I lived in back-to-backs in Hyde Park while I was a student ☺️
@terben73392 жыл бұрын
@@NicolaRuns Only a few memories, really. I didn't know about the steps until your video, but I looked for the new parkrun layout on Strava segments and the steps show up there. There seem to be other, shorter, flights of steps in the same area.
@NicolaRuns2 жыл бұрын
@@terben7339 yes I looked too and it looks like there's a great section of trails there... I'll definitely have to check it out! Good Strava research, pleased I'm not the only one 😃😃😃

Great video, looks a nice course. Good luck with the race tomorrow Nicola. I'm heading off to my local parkrun this Saturday, my first in 3 years. Conditions should be pretty good as we've had very little rain in London over the past month.

Gorgeous steps! Would be a nice perk of the agony of step runs😄 i haven't run for 3 days, hoping to go out tomorrow if I feel better, so your video (and IG photos) have lifted my spirits as usual! Running and sunsets and sunrises are such a great balm! Thanks again!

Fingers crossed you get your running fix tomorrow 😃 I wasn't somewhere I could see the sunset tonight but could see it was spectacular so I got all panicky because I was missing it! I had to remind myself that I've just seen some stunners 😍😍😍
@audgester2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! You really have seen some stunners recently. I know what it is like when you can tell there is an awesome rise or set and you just can't get to the right vantage point, or have time to see it, lol. It doesn't take long for it to change, either, so it is a real panic!😄

I am on the look out for a parkrun to do in June somewhere in the North. I have a car meet at Sherburn in Elmlet on the Sunday but making a weekend of it with a parkrun first. Did one last year that you featured in one of your vlogs and really enjoyed it. It was Roberts parkrun btw.

I'd had the same thought as the York group back in October; turned up in road shoes thinking it'd be a fairly quick course. Tbf, I did post my then-3rd quickest time overall, but I was wishing I had more grip by the third lap! Trust you've seen the photos from a few weeks ago (14th Jan) of the person who slipped over on the corner of the last football pitch?

Awwww that's my friend Cat! Bless her heart. It's her local. She was such a good sport to approve the sharing of the photos. They were so funny! That's what made me think it'd be super wet!

Which has the most steps? Armley Steps or Chevin Steps?
@NicolaRuns2 жыл бұрын
I've not counted Chevin steps but Chevin is like Armley steps on steroids! It's WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more elevation gain. I'd guess 3 - 4 times more but it could be even more than that. There's not steps all the way at the Chevin though but I would guess there were more steps too 🪜
