classyt20f7 Seems like you're spiritually broken. I've been there believe it or not, more times than I care to admit. Still I battle the flesh even though I have overcome it through Christ Jesus. This is the key. You have to stop trying to do it yourself bc even when you say you want to stop giving in to sin and you're going to stop its not going to work. Why? Bc we can't do it alone. You got to lay it all down at the feet of the cross and stop trying to take it up again. In other words, keep reading and studying Scripture, keep praying and praising God, even while you're still befallen to your sins bc if the Holy Spirit is in you and it appears that He is otherwise you wouldn't be feeling convicted as you are, then even while you're doing the things I have suggested, and is still sinning, the Holy Spirit will take over and help you and renew you. He will put to death that old you and make s new you. But you have to trust Him by laying it all down. Study the Book of Romans. Paul struggled also.💝

He's real good bc he's been there. He even talks about his divorce and sexual addictions and how God freed him from all of it. God bless

I've done the same, I've been stuck in that cycle of sleeping the days away to ignore my calling. I think when there is trepidation sleep acts as a false comfort, but I know I must now arise from the slumber and do what God has told me I've been in disobedience.

S B Be devoted to the Lord each day, not devoted to anything, repeat anything, each day, like sleep. Know that we live in an escapist culture.Know that we as humans persons are devotional creatures, that's how God made us. Ask this question, to what and to whom am I devoted today? At the end of the Book of Romans, Paul exhorts us to be ADDICTED to ministry. Is not that amazing? The Holy Spirit anticipated our addictions to anything and to anyone by 2000 years. Look that word addiction up in the Greek, and you will find it means- devotion. At 67 I try to follow this rule, daily: Eat when hungry, sleep when tired,only; if you can't sleep well, just be still, and rest completely, and pray, and finally, exercise when in need of stimulation, constructive stimulation. Ask the Lord for grace constantly. Give each and every part of you to the Lord, including your sleep periods. If you are even willing to be willing, at first, God will see and honor that, and Jesus and His power will more than meet you half way. Remember consciously give your sleep to the Lord.

I thank you God for your grace. We all have struggled and it’s a battle in our minds. The enemy is a liar in what he tries to place in your mind to make you think you’re not capable, not good enough or you don’t have what it takes. I got my first calling from God in 1993. I never understood cause i was so much into anything but God. Than in 2006 i was brought down on my knees...4 years back i was told at Tabor ashram that God would throw me in the sea like Johnna. Never heard of Johnna so I looked in and have come a long way. I acknowledge God and the Son of the Living God, Lord Jesus as my savior.

Years ago I listened to the Jonah story like listening to a Saturday night radio show. However, after living in the season I am facing, I now understand Jonah's plight! I am doing what the Lord has directed me to do, but I have detested the very place where the Lord has sent me. Now that I have repented, I pray the Lord will redeem my time and send me back to that area. Regarding sleeping on the boat, do you not see a correlation with Jesus and him calming the sea? Jonah's boat mates were nervous, but pagans, crying out for salvation from perishing as the godly man slept. Whereas Jesus's boat mates were followers of Christ, nervous and crying out for salvation from perishing as the man of God slept. Interesting. Either way, both crews were saved and learned a powerful lesson.

Start by telling your neighbors about Jesus. Get into the harvest in your little corner of the field. Start there and He will lead you. I made the excuse that I didn't know what my calling is when I knew deep down but I was too timid. I believe this lesson wasnt only for Jonah but a reaassurance that God's calling cannot be forfeited. If He calls you you will fulfill it, even if your running away. Jonah is rather a blessing for us that we cannot run away from our calling. If we cannot run away then our calling doesnt depend on us.
