Pretty much everything is loose in the Elks, and most 14ers in CO (Crestone group might be an exception). All the rocks are balanced and jammed “loosely” against each other. They are just heavy but most of them will move if leaned on the wrong way. It takes a lot of experience to move that efficiently in that terrain (goes without saying) and a certain disposition.
