I ran my last 80 workouts barefoot.Running twice a day. I can tell you w maximum assurance---my entire foot/ calf complex w all the smaller facia,tendons,muscles & ligaments involved are simply @ another level now. 6 years back I ran 12k barefoot in grass every am & 8k pretty quick w shoes on the 1% inclined treadmill. My feet became so strong & bulletproof proof---I won 1st overall in so many 3 5& 10K track X-c & road races it was amazing! Your feet are your foundation---if they are fully strengthened & functional w mobility-you may not suffer the usual inevitable injuries that creep up the kinetic chain starting w overly protected shoes NOT allowing yr feet to act as designed. Baby step it & go slow. I personally think running barefoot trumps any gym work.( 4 me @ least)

Great video JP! I was just reading about split opinions when it comes to leg extension machine. Can you please make a video about gym workout for runners that uses weights and different machines? For example would you recommend to use machines for isolation exercises or rather something like back squads that works bunch of muscles at the same time.

Great video ! What’s the appropriate training for the achilles when it has become annoyed by being twisted in shooting soccer so that is twisted while standing on one leg. Should that be recovered through balancing exercises rather than the straight up and down movements on stairs ?

Hello, I watched your videos and I liked them very much. Very useful information. Thanks. I have a few questions. My son is 13 years old. He has been playing basketball since he was 8 years old. He is a licensed player in the club. He loves basketball and wants to be a professional player in the future. He is also very successful in swimming. His feet are a little slow in basketball. He wants to increase his speed and jump. But there is a flat floor problem. It is not a completely flat sole, but when you lift your foot, a pit is formed and it flattens when you press the ground. As far as I've heard, there is this problem with Useyin Bolt in running and kevin durent in basketball. My question is, does this problem prevent him from running, speeding and jumping? Can this obstacle be overcome? Can he play in the professional basketball league with a flat sole? Should he use insoles that will create a foot pit in his shoes? We would be very happy if you could answer all these questions.

Would you recommend weighted, single leg calf raises to strengthen the achilles tendon?
@PhiyackYuh3 жыл бұрын
Any chance you cover tendon strengthening for functionality? From what I gather here is do heavy load and controlled, isometric and light and fast movement for tendon strengthening? I’ve been looking at the scientific research and studies but there’s no define answer. It seems like if you do eccentric, concentric and isometric you’ll strengthen the tendon if all is healthy. Your take? Thanks.

Hey, do u have any tips for Post Tib issues. For me its under the shin bone and not in the ankle/foot region. I have seen a physio and he have prescribe me exercise but it still reoccurs now and then. Any tips such as exercise, recovery or running form that you can share? I have a neutral foot but have been wearing stability shoes since the beginning so i didnt really change to neutral shoes. Wearing racers can make my post tib flare up, probably due to the lack of support.

Nice Video. JP, do you offer a service where you can look at running form to see if that’s an issue prior to progressing to a strengthening programme. If it’s the way you’re running that’s wrong couldn’t the issue just constantly resurface even with the strength work? My issues are always Soleus related
