Running from Rheumatic Heart Disease | Cissy's Story

Cissy was born and raised in Katherine, and in 2021 was selected to be part of the Indigenous Marathon Program.
Always being an enthusiastic and eager sportswoman, Cissy was ready to take on the 42km trek in Alice Springs. However, in a casual scan with Dr. Bo, Cissy discovered she had a mild case of Rheumatic Heart Disease.
Cissy's story is a short film that was made in conjunction with the feature film 'Take Heart: Deadly Heart,' which was released in March, 2022.
