Girasole4ever you don’t wanna make any fast sudden movements, even if you are trying to get away from the animal. Especially if it’s in defense mode which will make it more prone to bite. Just move away slowly and give the animal it’s space. This also goes with all animals

That is a younger Burmese python, and they are invasive to Florida. One that small would be highly aggressive because of its age and want for food (since they are opportunistic hunters), but they only threaten children and small animals. You would probably be able to fight back. Whilst if you saw an very old Burmese python, it would have a lower chance of fighting you because it’s around 400 pounds and would not be able to swim fast at all. Also, the way that the snake was coiled up in the branches it would have a harder time reaching you because it would need to unravel itself from the branches.

I will say with my family having owned property down in Florida for decades and decades now since the 1950s that there has been an explosion of pythons and boa constrictors in and around the Florida area and where you guys were diving is a hotspot for release of former domestic boa constrictors and pythons so it's a good thing you didn't touch that that python you would have been bit and you would have constricted around your arm and it wouldn't have been a pretty sight so I'm glad you're okay and just be careful around around pilings and areas of a lot of wood and tree fall because those areas are hot spots for large sometimes venomous snakes so please be careful down there boys and there goes for anybody else who is diving in those areas please please be careful thank you

PLEASE tell me you called Florida Wildlife. It is going to have a horrendous effect on the ecosystem if it's not caught. Most likely it has already bred. We don't know if they're are others to breed with or if it breeds with other types of snakes. I would have loved to have seen you calling FWC & they send someone to capture the snake.
@MountainMeese8285 жыл бұрын
MICHELLE ROSS there are definitely more of them in south Florida, they are Burmese pythons that were introduced as released pets, and they have invaded south Florida and have already established a breeding population, and one python like that won’t cause a “horrendous effect on the ecosystem” it’s only one snake, and they mainly eat land mammals like squirrels or rabbits, not fish.
