Have you run in the IceBug shoes? What do you think of them?
@Johnnyrebox Жыл бұрын
The greatest compliment I can give to IceBug is the piece of mind it gives those who have a history of broken bones. Well WORTH it.

I just bought a pair, anxious to test them out now that I have seen your favorable review! Thanks

@@TravelRunner will let you know when they come in, the store is shipping in a half size smaller. My conditions are similar to yours North of Montreal.

I have the same shoes in women's. Amazing running with them in Alaska.
@TravelRunner2 жыл бұрын
Oh I’m sure you get good use out of them in Alaska! Do you ever use them on trail runs when there isn’t snow?
@SM-og7eq2 жыл бұрын
@@TravelRunner No. I use another shoes without spikes.

Hi ! Nice tests! What kind of cushion is Arcus about? What are stack heights? Any road shoe in mind with same cushion?
@TravelRunner Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! The Arcus is the most cushioned shoe from IceBug (at least it was when I made the video), but I’m not sure what road shoe it would compare to… maybe a Hoka Clifton but more firm and heavier than the Clifton. The metal studs add weight to the shoes, they’re by no means a fast and nimble shoe. As far as the stack on the shoes, I’m not sure of the technical specifications but I’m sure that information is available on the IceBug web site.

Thanks, Robb! I'll let you borrow them when you decided to visit Nova Scotia in the winter.

I just ordered a pair of these 😊

I hope they work for you. So far this winter there hasn’t been much need for them where I live, but winter is still far from over!

great!, which model have you tested? many thanks..

I was running in the Arcus. I know their Newrun has more steel studs on the bottom but the Arcus has a little bit more cushion.

Hi! Thank you for the review! I have a question, though. Icebug has two different size charts for men and women. Men's 8.0 equals to Women's 9.5 in length, but does it have different width?
@TravelRunner2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! Yes, mens and women’s shoes are different widths. Standard width for women’s shoes is “B”, and for men it’s “D”.

nice vid, thanks, do you get overpronation shoes in icebug? which ones you recommend..?
@TravelRunner2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. I'm not sure if IceBug makes a support model for overpronation. And I can't give any recommendations on specific models from IceBug as I've only worn the Arcus, which are the shoes I own. You could always consider getting a third party insole that provides support if you're worried about overpronation in the shoes. Hope this helps!

Wow. Is this for real? You are running on the ICE?
@TravelRunner2 жыл бұрын
Yep, it's real. The steel studs in the shoes did a really nice job of getting traction, even on ice. I was impressed, as hopefully the video shows.

Are they slippery on smooth pavement? Could you also wear them on the bus or subway?
@TravelRunner Жыл бұрын
If you mean smooth pavement like you see in subway stations (per your second part of the question), then I’d say yes they probably are slippery. Although, this is just my assumption as I’ve never used them on pavement surfaces. As far as wearing them in a bus or subway, the steel studs will leave marks and scratches on things like hardwood floors so bus and subway flooring might also be susceptible to scratches. Personally, I wouldn’t wear them indoors ever.
@Dailydivefix Жыл бұрын
I have to wear mine transitioning from indoors to out and in again before I can change. They can be a bit slippery on some floors but if you’re careful they are fine. They’re great outside if you get sections of tarmac without any snow or ice as the studs retract a bit on hard surfaces. I love mine.

Icebug does sell shoe covers that you can put on them if you need to go indoors.
