Running Pipes and Rubber Ducks! - Digger Girl Diaries Week 14

Started a new job putting in 3000m of 32mm water pipe. Through a farmers fields trying not to make a mess so taking my time to save the turf while digging. Ended the week by doing my CSCS touch screen test, and getting a go of a brand new Takeuchi wheeled excavator.

That “contraption” you put your water line on is awesome! I don’t know how many jobs I’ve fought that water line getting it uncoiled…especially when it’s cold out. I usually get a steal bar put it through the waterline and hang it with a chain from my excavator bucket and just unspool it by hand. Smart thinking on your contraption!

Hi There. Thats pretty cool how you push the crumbs back in the trench after a couple of digs. It keeps them from falling in later when you are laying the pipe. I'll have to try that next time I'm working on a field tile. The swivel on the bucket is impressive, you can spin it a full 180 degrees. I don't have anything that fancy but it would have its benefits. Like your videos, it sure is pretty out there in your part of the world, hope to see more :) :) :)

When I lay water pipes I push the spoil back in with the bucket so I can compact it better then I push the topsoil back into a windrow over the line and track it in and I've noticed that way less sinkage good video though

900mm? Our depths are 750 for services and 900 cover for a main. CAT and genny would have found the cable for you easily. Understable you're not using a mole, would need a 75mm to lay both pipes at once which is a lump and they normally only have a 15m or so hose on them, so would still be a lot of launch/receiver pits, and the ise of a compressor, probably quicker to trench. Nice video as always

The mains stop 1500metres from the farm and they want on the mains for doing a renovation of the house. Exercise is definitely good for the old head 😅 hopefully it stays dry a couple more weeks! Thank you 😊😊

Hello ! Looks like you don’t mark anything before digging. But your work is beautifully straight. I think if relies on your placement of your machine center. But how do you do to center it perfectly ? Do you use some gps or other positioning device ?

A lot of contractors in West Cornwall now buying sany machines long wait for takeuchis get the sanys pretty much the same week

Personally I find of the 3 I find takeuchi's are the best below 10t, Kubota's are lacking in stability and guts, but the yanmars are by far the worst

@@richmiles123 we have about 15 machines mostly kubota , few yanmar , hitachi volvo . Now getting few takeuchis we find the kubotas very reliable and good value for money ., the 8ton yanmars are extremely reliable. Hopefully the taks will go as well as the rest
