Glad you are feeling better and back in action. Crazy you can't shut down a system in New York when its not safe to run. Definitely can and do shut down and disable them in Virginia for bad heat exchangers.

I ran the furnace in my high school shop class. Not worth the risk of permanent deformity with that hot metal. Maybe on a larger scale with safer equipment it would be worth it. Leaving my scrap at the curb or taking it to the metal yard.
