Running the '49 GE Electric Sink

Mike demonstrates the brand-new 1949 GE Electric Sink for us at the Wash Party. Notice the "swirling" action in each glass created by the water movement from the rapidly spinning Bakelite impeller. The whole floor was shaking after the machine reached the proper fill level, a true testament to how powerful these old impeller DWs were. Equally unique and ahead of it's time was the external-cam timing mechanism this machine is equipped with, operating the detergent cup, pop-up drain valve, and even the lid latch!
