The Arc B580 is a 1440p budget beast! Me and my oldest boy just built a new rig around it paired with the Ryzen 5 7600. Super cool, quiet and stable. No problems so far.

Great video. I've had the b580 since launch day (perks of a Microcenter 10 minutes from my house) and run it with a 5600 at 1440p. I've been very happy with how well it runs all my games and haven't felt like I needed to upgrade anything. Maybe I'm just blissfully ignorant, but I don't feel like my pc is underpowered versus newer CPUs.

One of the lucky few to live close to Microcenter!! Am jelly :p but yeah honestly, I think you are fine for a bit with that combo. You could always go with a 5700x3d if you find a good deal, or even a 5600x3d that are microcenter exclusives but I think the 5600 still can hold out for another gen. As long as all the games you play are solid, there is no real point. That being said, x3d CPUS can give a solid boost to frames and the tech is really cool. NGL I would be tempted to get a 5600x3d just because exclusive but that's just me lmao. Also apparently the 5600x3d performs better then the 5700x3d and 5800x3d, or so I have heard. Hey, nice video - nice to see someone actually acknowledging that B580 should be tested in 1440p and not 1080p I got the same Sparkle B580, but paired with i5-12500 and 32GB of DDR5 at 5600 MT/s. I do also play WoW on native 1440p with no FSR (since somehow they only got FSR 1 there lol) on mix of high and medium settings + RT shadows enabled at Dornagal i am getting around from 60 to even 90 fPS - depending on how many people are on my screen durring raids at full 20-size party, i am having stable 80 FPS

while the driver issues are bad and hopefully are fixable with an update, this card is still great value even with budget cpus. I've been using this with a 5600x and a 1080p monitor (all I've got) and it destroys every game on high+ settings. Was running modded minecraft with raytracing, distant horizons and tons of terrain gen mods and I was getting 150+fps, couldn't believe it cost $250usd. I believe that many people are blowing these issues out of proportion, I'd grab this card over a 4060 anyday.

I have not played Genshin on PC in a while to remember how graphically intensive it is but the B580 shouldn't have issues playing it on 1440p. And I think it handles most common AAA games well, at least I have had no complaints in what I have tested it on ^ ^

Nvidia saying it's as good as a 4090 is wild af but we just have to see, still too early. It might even be the case the 4070 Super is still better. But it does seem they learned their lesson in pricing from the 40 series though and priced this gen so they can put more TI's and supers in between each tier later on. Honestly the 50 series on a whole seems kind of meh, its more software then hardware in uplift but we will see since no benchmarks are out yet

I have Intel 12 400 F32 gigs around love game screen in the arc 8 7 70, and it works. It just works, it's that I'll play 1080P. It works fine out 1440P. Is wonderful, no problems? It just depends on how you build your system. Cause it, they talked about balance building, and you have to balance out the performance from the CPU and the GPU to have a perfect experience with it. Resizable. Bar is necessary If you don't have it, it will not work, right? You will have very bad experience

IMO, F the 4060 any version lmao. Its not like its a bad GPU but Nvidia was super greedy with it. That being said, the 16gb version can't even fully utilize all of its Vram so it's kind of a waste. I will say its def the more reliable choice versus a B580 but the B580 is new and shiny! So it def makes it a tough choice 😭 If you plan on streaming or any content creation, I would say 4060 because Nvidia encoders are hard to pass up but if not flip a coin and if you can't agree with the decision you already know what you want in your mind. Or say f it and try to get a blue shiny boi :p

Okay I lied, not F any version of the 4060, the 4060M (the laptop version of the card) is actually pretty solid. Its also the only GPU of the 40 series gen to basically perform the exact same as its full version. My laptop has it :p

Not to fully excuse Intel for this misstep but from what I understand you need a processor with ReBAR to mitigate the bottlenecking situation. So that puts it at about I think 10-11th gen Intel, and Ryzen 3000 series up. And being fair, these are also the bare minimum CPUs you should even consider using in 2025.

Yeah, Intel themselves says that any lower is not supported, and even some of the lower CPUs without rebar support, you can tech get rebar on with the right mobo, but its hard to say how well it's actually working. And there have been tests with the Ryzen 3000 series on 1080p and they found some pretty bad performance loss with the B580, and even some with the 5000 series compared to other GPUs. Although it's hard to say how over blown it is though cause all GPUs will lose performance with lesser CPUs, and the findings are so varied across dif games. But so many people seemed happy to be instantly super negative with Battlemage 😿

@@MushroomKingdoom atm, the RX 6600 is probably the more reliable card. That being said, I think the b580 will take you further in the future (granted Intel keeps working on its drivers). But I have not tested the B580 with any of those games yet so I can't fully comment. I plan to do a couple more vids with the B580 though, including a benchmark with a bunch of older games since the first gen Arc cards struggled with them. I can certainly add Starcraft 2 to my list to test ^ ^

At 1080p sure but 1440p is a dif story. Granted neither card is blowing each other out of the water here, there is a lot of trading blows in dif games and for most its like a 5 FPS dif for the lead card. And considering both of these are entry level GPUS and one gives 4GB extra of vram and a cheaper MSRP, that is worth something IMO. The stock issues does suck but besides Gunnir cards with crazy import prices, and random eBay copium listers, its not like the price has really gone up. You just can't buy the card LOL, which IMO is the GPU's biggest weakness. I am also hopeful as battlemage drivers mature, we will get better performance (and some 1080p fixes) but that is also just my copium :p But yeah this card is def far from perfect and Intel def got some bugs to work out but we will just have to see

As long as you get consistent 60fps in the games you play, it's a 1440p card... :p I get where you are coming from but considering how poorly optimized most new AAA games are and the fact they just lazily rely on upscalers and or frame gen to make them playable, its hard to fully agree with you. And even if we use Indiana Jones as an example of what you said, it is unique for the fact you HAVE to have a card with ray tracing and can't turn that off. Perhaps sometime in the future that will be the norm but it certainly is not the case at the moment. Either way, the B580 is very much a capable card at 1440p, esp as a low budget option. But yeah, take that as you will, just my opinion at the end of the day ^ ^
