This is an awesome little video .... I see some griping about human scent in the comments ... I'm in Iowa and caught many coyotes after dripping snot off my nose at the set ... just can't be helped ... one of my most fun times was the "magic set" ... one spot ... one trap ... never changed the trap ... 6 coyotes in 3 weeks love the banter ..

Hey Casey, I caught Robert in one of my traps at trapper college. It wasn’t funny. I didn’t know where to hid under. Great guy he is !!!

I like seeing how dry it is sometimes. Seems like most of the time I'm running mud through my sifter. 😆

Mr. Waddell is a man that I could talk to the rest of my life and still not know half of what he does about trapping. I would like to see more of Mr. Waddell trapping other species if he traps other furbearers besides coyotes. Thanks for the great video.

No gloves, leaving scent every where. Guy doesn't even know what he's doing......... Extreme sarcasm if you couldn't tell. Ol boy's caught more coyotes than all of us put together. Just watch and learn fellas

Yes he has!

I understand not everything is the same country wide. But if you were to come to the North like Michigan and use your bare hands you wouldn’t catch anything. Its amazing to me how different the animals are from state too state.

Eastern coyotes would never get near that trap, rubber gloves are a must around here.

What about your head? You wearing a bag on your head, considering your head is the biggest distributor of your scent and its right over the top of your set...lmao

@@ramoutdoors6415 it's cold around here usually have something over your mouth but that's not the point. We boil and dip our traps every yr hang them out in trees use rubber gloves and boots. It's a know fact westerns aren't as weary as easterns. If it works for you ppl without scent control that's and added bonus but im sure your numbers would go up with proper scent control but I could be wrong.

@@matthewanderson2538 been there done that. Numbers dont change a bit. Started trapping in the mid 70's, done all kinds of stupit crap and still catch. Includes catching coyotes after spitting on sets, pissing on them and even catch them in exposed pans and exposed traps while cat trapping. Kids and grandkids play all around the set to. Kids even pissing when they need to. Ive seen guy chewing tobacco and smoking, still catch dogs the next day. I know guys out east that traps coyotes with no scent control and catch plenty. Scent control and no scent control and they still catch. What funny is you actually think you can fool a dog that you havent been there lol. How long do you actually think your scent lasts on the ground? It dont stay there for days man. Coyote knows you been there, but it also knows ur not there now. Go tell Mark Zagger scent control matters or anybody in his group. lol Nothing but excuses!

@@ramoutdoors6415 your very uneducated if you said that to trappers around here they'd laugh at you. You think gunman scent doesn't stick around but a whitetail deer can smell.scent multiple days old and coyotes can smell just as good or better. It's also common knowledge that the eastern coyote is way smarter than the western the hunting and trapping pressure around here is so much more. Lastly ro.think im.gonna listed to a guy that pretends to know it all.on the internet instead of listening to 70 and 80 yr old local trappers that have spent their whole lives perfecting their hobby you've gonna and bumped you head everyone's entitles to their opinion but to say scent control has no positive effect is a load of crap have a good day.

@@matthewanderson2538 Go tell Waddell that scent matters. That man wearing no gloves caught around 1100 coyotes last fur season, doing exactly what he is doing in the vid. You jealous? I can drop a bag of corn in the middle of day and the deer will be there in the evening eating. Scent matters? Overrated! Other trappers trap same way and catch 500 to 600 coyotes in a fur season. With lots of pressure! Keep on looking for excuses. Them same trappers trap north, south, west and east. You must be one of those fb and trapperman trappers. Learn to be smarter than a dog!
