I recommended this way of running windows 32 bit programs bc its a much more straightforward way to do so, if you are looking for performance, plain box64 or fex will do better with steam inux x86_64 and proton. many thanks to Don for covering this amazing project

I've been monitoring this project for a while, really didn't expect to evolve beyond experimental stage. Seeing Wine seamlessly integrated with all those CPU emulators is really amazing. As for running ARM on Wine, this isn't new. I remember running 32-bit ARM (Win RT) build of Notepad++ on my old modded Asus TF300T running Ubuntu 16.04 (IIRC).

@@CyberDunk2077 tbh, rpi will never do anything interesting on steam unless native linux x86_64 games. windows stuff is prohibitive bc of the lack of proper vulakn hw for dxvk to translate dx to vulkan. even the rpi5 gpu hw is not good enough for dxvk

mmm yes and no, execution time is faster, but the performance of box86 and wine x86 is faster ingame wise, but, wine itself is a lot more responsive

the elephant in the room: on arm hw, except spandragons, we do lack of proper vulkan hw that is capable of dxvk to translate directX to vulkan. without it, its impossible to run any modern game with fex or box64 or whatever software.

Isn't Vulkan 1.3 support on the Pi 5 enough for DXVK ? Not sure how well it works though.

the problem: wine doesnt work with a different page size than 4kb, that's the norm on x86_64 windows. it's a hack of rpi on utilizing 8kb or 16kb instead, I dont remember the actual page size. wine will not work on those
