The sea monsters have arrived and they are ready to rumble. Runo is there to lead the charge and how generous of him to also give us some clones too. It’s nice to have giant creatures that are not green. It’s also nice to beat your opponents’ faces in with said creatures. And one last thing, UNLEASH THE KRAKEN!!!!!!

Inkwell Leviathan is a bit of a nonbo, as you cannot create copies of him with your commander (because of shroud).

Slinn Voda includes Merfolk cause in the lore he carries a Merfolk city on its back.

Inkwell Leviathan unfortunately does not pair well with Runo. It has shroud, and it can not be the target of spells or abilities you control. Meaning Runo can't target it. I Highly recomend swapping it for: Irenicus's Vile Duplication{3}{U} Sorcery Create a token that’s a copy of target creature you control, except the token has flying and it isn’t legendary.

I personally don’t rate Inkwell Leviathan, as it can’t be copied by Krothuss, and since it doesn’t have an ETB, it’s is just a big beater. I feel that the slot is better served by a omething like Tidal Kraken or other evasive creature/creature with a nice ETB trigger

I totally agree with you. Sometimes you make a deck building error. I'm so used to Inkwell Leviathan being good on Legacy back in the day.

This deck is not slow at all if you build it properly. Things such as Quest for Ulas temple, quicksilver amulet, Vampiric Tutor, graveyard recursion, and other dimir mechanics can make this deck not only fast, but plenty capable of being dangerous without needing the sea monsters while still not compromising on them

I also play Runo. Very falvourful deck, I like it very much. I think you are very sensitive to removals als you don't play anything to counter spells, protect your sea monsters or return them from graveyard to battlefield.

Nope, but I've got enough bounce to hopefully take care of the problematic artifacts. Dimir is not good in this department.
